They had been pickled, painted, multiple times, and finally Gianied, with numerous coats of sealants . I realized that removing the handle and doing a deep sanding was labor intensive. I wondered if a touch up, using Aqua Lock White would do the trick after sanding. To my great surprise it went on very easily. It leveled out with the remaining paint. I am very pleased with all the Aqua Lock products I have used. They are far superior and preferred by refinishers. I ordered this primer online because all of the local stores were sold out and I needed a quality stain blocking primer. First, let me share feedback on shipping and packaging. Inside the Amazon shipping box was a packing material and then a second box which contained the can. Around the can was cut out cardboard and held the can suspended inside the box. The can was in an airtight plastic bag that was sealed. The can itself came with a plastic lid sealer around the rim. All of that packaging must have worked because the can arrived in perfect condition with no dents or leaks. I am thinking about trying to order a gallon of primer and/or paint to see how it travels. For the primer itself, it is great stuff. Insul-X makes great primers that bond well, sand easily, and don't smell as bad as some other cheaper primers. I'll pay more for a primer that doesn't have terrible odors.
