I have avoided electric sharpeners for years, relying on a 4 stage hand sharpener or my old wooden platform sharpener with angled steel bars. They both work but they are time consuming and, as my arthritis progresses, more tiring and difficult. This device offered me an inexpensive way to check out electric sharpeners. So far it has been a great sharpener for home use. It is small and quiet and much faster and easier than a manual sharpener. I have used it for several types of knives (from French chef to paring size and a serrated bread knife) and it sharpened them all well. The directions are clear and easy to follow. After on a minute or two it became very easy to hold a knife at the proper angle. The 2-stage system sharpens and polishes the blade and the magnetic dust collector at the bottom does a good job of capturing metal shavings. It is easy to empty. There is a scissor sharpener on one side, but I haven't used it yet.

Works extremely well, is easy to set up and use, the instructions are clear and easy to follow. and it is fairly quiet. Excellent product.

Great sharpener. Proper instructions on manual for ease of use. Angle guide is well angled. Sharpening ability is great mostly because of the stones used. 3 options, crude/coarse, polish & knife sharpening. Grip is also great, has a gripping bottom. Also has dust/debris catcher. I'm very happy with it.

All of my kitchen knives are extremely sharp now. Even the serrated blades. This thing works great as long as you read and follow the instructions.

This knife sharpener has to be one of the easiest I have ever used. Some of my knives have a difficult shape and with this sharpener I have been able to keep a very sharp edge on them with no problems

This was a replacement for my old Chefs Choice knife sharpener. Like the Chefs Choice, you have to sharpen each side of the blade independently. Both took some time to sharpen a knife. I was hoping for something faster, so I went ahead and took a chance on purchasing another brand sold by Amazon, the Sharpal 198H. It cost about 1.5 times what I had paid for each of the other 2 but the performance was spectacular, sharpening both sides of the blade at the same time in 1/3rd the time.

Un excellent aiguiseur à couteaux. J'avais un "fusil à aiguiser" (le long bâton utilisé par les grand chefs) mais je n'arrivais pas à bien les aiguiser. J'avais plutôt tendance à les abimer. Depuis que je me suis procurée ce nouvel appareil, je peux enfin couper mes aliments à la perfection. J'adore la double fonction : celle d'aiguiser et de polir le couteau pour enlever toutes les aspérités. L'appareil n'est pas trop lourd et il aiguise aussi bien les petits et les grands couteaux que les ciseaux (ce qui est un plus) ! Je suis très contente de mon achat. Je le recommande fortement.

Really happy with this unit. Sharpened long-dull knives in no time. Followed instructions (10 passes each angle) for the coarser grind then three or four passes on the fine grind (each angle). I still finished them off with the steel (couple passes to just remove any left over burs). Excellent results.
