This product is a must for dogs that gobble their food down without chewing it first. This is very unhealthy for them, and as a pet owner, they will frequently vomit up what they gobble down. I have 3 large dogs that get fed in their crates as 2 are slow eaters and 1 inhales her food. I have had other slow feeder inserts in the past, that only had one suction at the bottom. She was able to easily dislodge it. Then I got a slow feeder bowl, which worked fine. But I wanted to get new bowls for the dogs which meant looking for another slow feeder insert. I liked this one because it has many suctions on the bottom, which doesn't budge, it's a high quality silicone, and it has enough "portions" to slow down the feeding while the design is simple and uncomplicated, making cleaning easy. I liked it so much that I got one for my daughter's dog, who is my girls littermate, who also inhales his food. He knows how to dislodge his slow feeder insert, so this one will be perfect for him. I also like the size of this product. I fits my new round bowls, but also fits perfectly into my daughters dogs tear drop shaped bowl. Also, the "wings" can be cut to fit smaller bowls,

Bought this to slow my puppy down on her eating habits and it has worked like a charm. She is eating at a much more normal pace now which my older dogs appreciate as she was finishing so quickly that she was trying to steal their food. It fit perfectly into her bowl with no alterations required. The only issue is that I had to buy a second one because she figured out how to pull the first one out of her dish and destroyed it. But I gave it another shot and we haven’t had that issue again. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to slide their dog’s eating habits but doesn’t want to switch dishes.

Long story short, my dog has always been the type to need a slow-feed bowl. We used to have one of those stainless steel ones with the big bump in the middle, but once we got her on prednisone she became even more voracious than before (hard to believe) and it just wasn't doing the job. She was coughing and choking on her food and it was concerning. We tried the plastic maze style bowl and she BROKE IT. That's right. She pushed her mouth so deep into those crevices that she broke piece of the plastic clean off. Also concerning. So then I found this. And it is PERFECT. Because it is a sort of rubbery/silicone-like material she cannot actually break it. It slows her down enough that she doesn't choke (this was true while she was on prednisone and now that she's off it). I do think the plastic maze bowls slowed her down a bit more, but I prefer this because it still gets the job done and it is safer for my stupid dog who breaks plastic bowls with her snout. *rolls eyes* Though it may slip around in the bowl a tad, the suction ultimately doesn't come off and it is easy to reposition. It's also easy to take out and clean. Fantastic product and it's not even expensive. I wish I had known about this sooner!

Quality is not that great, but functionality is good. It gets slimy, but easy to wash. It leaves a bad smell and bad feeling of the product if not washed and clean regularly. Design and size is great as it fits in our pets bowl, depth is good which helps my pet to slow down on eating. Pretty sturdy. Just didn't like the slimy feeling it leaves after pet meal.

My new German Short Hair Pointer puppy eats like she has been starving for a week! When we first got her at 5 weeks old she would finish off a bowl of food in about 10 seconds. We found this slow feeder and decided to give it a try. Its an inexpensive solution to a fast eating dog problem. The silicone is strong and can be cleaned by hand washing or in the dishwasher. The suction cups hold very firm to the bottom of the bowl. PROS: 1. It definitely helps slow the feeding down by a bit. 2. It has suction cups that stick very well to the bottom of the food bowl 3. It can be cleaned in the sink, but dishwasher is easier because of all the angles and flexibility 4. It doubles as a chew toy :) 5. Add it to an existing dog bowl CONS: None yet. Conclusion: It has held up well to Penny chewing on it and feeding for the last 4 weeks and has definitely helped slow down her food intake. Be sure your bowl has a smooth enough bottom for the suction cups to attach. I wish I could teach her to chew! I would recommend this product to anyone.

Overall this product was a great for me and my dog. I had already had a food bowl and didn't want to have to purchase another one. This was super great for the price and fit into my dog's food bowl just fine due to it's flexibility. (My dog's food bowl is more of an oval shape.) It is meant for a smaller bowl. My dog has eaten fast her whole life and it causes her to choke. So we have to be VERY careful. With this insert, I can feed my dog without have to monitor her! Very few pieces of food fall under it, but my dog MUST have every crumb. Its suction cups make sure it doesn't move while feeding and easily removable. SUPER easy to wash with soap and water and dries quick, as well!
