The light stays on if you want to use the voice command through internet. Just disconnect the kettle from the internet if you don't want the blue bar light on. You will not then be able to use the Alexa voice command or the smart home app to control the Weeket

Is the kettle handle cool to touch after boiling water

It sure is just like any other kettle

Would like an Alexa routine to switch on kettle to defined temperature. Alexa won't recognise the device when asked and only allows up to 32C
