I'm interested in these but my mother had dementia. Are there instructions to explain the frequency issue?

Yes there are instructions for adjusting the frequencies. However for most of the users, they can just use as is without adjust any setting.

wall charging - what voltage and amperage to use?

You can use any charger with a standard USB port. You can also use the USB port on the computer to charge it.

Will this work at the movie theater?

It helps. I was close to not going to movies because I can’t hear the dialogue. Now this allows enough to follow the dialogue. This is a the highest gain amplifier without the feedback whistle I have found at any price. It has more gain available but limited by feedback. I think an old fashioned tin ear would be a step forward in many situations. I also may try a set of Bose noise cancelling head phones with microphone feeding a Bluetooth. Movie theaters are quite so any amplifier should work. The problem is noise in a car or restaurant.

how do you open the back side to fine tune it? i just got my unit & am trying to find out how to fine tune it.

There is a little nut on the back you can just open it there like opening a book.
