Since this series is based off of the video games, I expected slapdash writing and horrible dialogue like you get with the games. That is not true at all. The writing is really engaging and puts you in the stories, you get to know most of the characters you care about, and the action rarely lets up. Like the games, there's action, violence, zombies, viruses, good people, bad people, in-between people, and mysteries. If you haven't read these because you were expecting low quality, at least pick up the first one and give it a try. Review: Nostalgia high. - Love the series. I love video games almost as much as I love reading, and Resident Evil is one of my favorite series, though it sometimes takes second place after Silent Hill. Going through it again. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Probably the best adaption of Resident Evil so far. *by C***G on January 30, 2022* Throughout the years the resident evil games haven't been done much justice when it comes to hollywood movies. Ask most fans and they'll agree that they are resident evil in name only with guest appearances of characters and creatures from the games. However the medium of novels has been, in my opinion, much more respectful of it's lore and characters. In this 7 book series by S.D. Perry, it covers the events of the oldest games in the series plus 2 all original stories. The books are a blast to read and never feel boring. There are canonical errors when you get to the Nemesis book which the author does address. Because the books were being written as the franchise was evolving in the late 90's and early 2000's. Four of the books had been written before resident evil 3, the game, had even been released.
