The glass containers are heavier so they don't scoot around or fall over when half empty, like the plastic ones often do. I have no problem with the plastic top and pump mechanism. Metal tops on dispensers seem to corrode and look ugly really quickly. On or about 15 June 2025, it became increasingly difficult to push the #1 plunger down. By mid July (7 months after purchase) it was impossible to push it down. #2 continued to function until mid October 2025.
