It is study and feels like it will last a very long time. I gave it only 4 stars because I needed it to because to make a full revolution. The design prevents it from doing that. It sits too low on the clamp and hits the desk which prevents the full revolution. That being said, my needs are unique and if all you are using it for is to work do work on your computer, then this will serve you well. I am an artist and hoped that this would freely move while my shoulder was protected. That was not the case. But like I said, for a computer user, this ia a great addition to your set-up. It is very good value for the money. It is comfortable to use since the height is adjustable, and it is sturdy.
