Works great. Makes eating sandwiches healthier.

I use this to press & cook seitan and it works a treat. It's so much better than wrapping in aluminum foil. Makes the perfect size roll to be sliced for deli style sandwiches. A few minor things to watch out for: - The holes in the pressure plate where the spring connects can get clogged where your contents squeeze out a bit under pressure. I used a small square of parchment paper to prevent this. - Take care to pack the tube properly or you could end up with a void at the bottom. Getting the air out is critical to a nice roll. - It can be hard to get your compressed roll back out after cooking. I haven't found a great technique for this yet. but maybe greasing the tube might help. I've run a blunt knife around the edge to free it up a bit and that helps a little. It comes with some plastic bags, but I'm not sure if you're supposed to cook with those or use them for storage afterward. - It can take a long time to cool since the aluminum tends to retain the heat.

The first three times I used ground chicken and it worked like a breeze. It is easier to clean using the bags. You can easily change up the spices for different flavors (BBQ, Mesquite, Herb, etc.). I then used it to make a pork lunch meat. For this I used ground pork and chunks of pork loin. This also came out very well. There are a few recipes online on YouTube using "Ham Press Recipes". I tend to go lighter on the salt. This is because once it is on a sandwich, there are other condiments that will be added to it and I did not want it over seasoned or salty.

Follow directions and it works great! With the price of deli meat and all the preservatives added to their meat, this was a no-brainer for me. I can season my meat with whatever I want and then I can slice it however I want. This size canister makes it easy for me to use my mandolin slicer to make sandwich thick slices and I KNOW WHAT IS IN MY FOOD!

I can be very creative with the flavors and textures. I can enjoy a lunch meat sandwich and not wonder about all the extra additives that have been mixed in with it. My food is pure, delicious and guilt free with this amazing lunch meat canister!

Great product, seems very sturdy. However as stated by a few others, the spring isn’t long enough and you have to use 2 lbs of meat to get it to work (greatly increases cooking time!). The spring is definitely not as long as pictured! Also the thermometer included doesn’t work. Luckily I had read this and was prepared, because the one it came with never went over 60°.

Makes the best cat food ever. Only if following recipes intended for human consumption
