BT-705A pickup kit needs to work with digital multimeter features with signal input and capable of measuring parameters of vehicle engine systems. Adapting standard banana plug of 3/4 inch, inductive clamp is compatible with most multimeters with signal input functions. It work perfectly with BT-770K, BT-90K, BT-6688D automotive multitesters. Connect the plugs of the instrument to the input terminals of the automotive meter (The black plug of this instrument should be connect to “COM” jack of the automotive meter) Set the automotive meter in corresponding measuring range. Read the valve on the LCD display. If no reading is received, unhook the clamp, turn it over and connect again. Review: Nice product - Works great Review: Wildly Inaccurate - So far, very unreliable. Keeps losing connection with the meter. Readings are all over the place and very inconsistent. On some wires it won't read at all. On others, it reads intermittently and causes the meter to reset every few seconds. If I hold it a certain way and pull in just the right angle so it is pulling against the spark plug wire, I can get readings for a few seconds that seem to hover around a certain number +/- 200 rpm. So if the actual RPM is 1000, it will bounce all over the place from 0-5000, but if I hold my mouth just right and close one eye and pull on the cord and play with the angle, I can get it to read between 800-1200 consistently for up to a few seconds before it trips out.
