Does this need to be seasoned?  The translation isn't very good.  It says to let it sit for 12 hours but doesn't mention anything about heating it?

Thank you for your interest for our product and we apologise on the translation, we have made an update version of the instruction manual in the attachment, please feel free to review it and keep for your future reference.

In addition to the second part of your question, during the initial use of the wok, you don’t need any seasoned to start it, there is only 3 basic steps before using it: 1. Boil it with water two to three times 
2. Wipe it dry and apply a thin layer of oil in the interior of the wok
3. Let the wok sit in a dark area for 12 hours until it dry up.

Then, clean up the oil and you are good to go!  One reminder, if you are using a gas range, remember to remain the heat range from medium or low so that it will not hurt the exterior coating and handles, our wok has 3x faster heater transfer compare to regular wok, so medium or low heat will do its work on fire range.

What's the hard-anodized aluminum? it it more better than aluminum?

Yes, After adding a certain proportion of chemical components to the pure aluminum material, after high-pressure forging to increase the hardness, the aluminum alloy material is upgraded to  hard-anodized aluminum.

Safe for Use on gas range?

It is not safe for gas stoves. The flames can burn the outside sides. This should be covered either in the details about the unit or by other reviewers who destroyed theirs on a gas stove.
