Excellent, dependable headlamp
Excellent headlamp for all around use! Bright is very bright: I could see my way through mountain trails and forest on a pitch black night after elk hunting--300 lumens is outstanding. Dim is excellent too: the adaptive white and red LEDs are perfect for tent use without annoying others. Thirdly, the tilt function of the lamp allows for proper lighting angle where you need it...truly hands free for any task. And finally, the efficiency achieved on 3 x AAA batteries is simply amazing (see the specs...I can't comment here, as I've yet to replace my first set of batteries and haven't used my spares). This is a reliable, efficient, excellent design for an all-purpose headset...and you don't have to break the bank to own one.

Great product
This is the first headlamp I have used. It is comfortable, light and gives off plenty of light for almost all needs. The controls are very easy to use, it took about 2 minutes to figure out how all the settings work. Push quickly on the button for the white light, hold the button down for the red light, press again for the flashing red light. I would recommend to anyone.

Bright, comfortable, works like a charm!
Bought this for 8 days in the sierras. Worked flawlessly. I would get an extra core battery so that you always have one charged and donโt need to use AAA batteries. Itโs bright and comfortable. Love it!

Letโs you light up the pathway!
Works as advertised. Plenty of light level options. Mainly use the red light to not blind fellow hikers. Good buy!

They just don't build em like they used to.....
I have an older Petzl headlamp. I'd say probably at least a decade old ? Ok .. it's a bit of a tank. It weighs more; does not have the lumens of this one; uses two AA BUT by that comparison what I found between the two are: - the older one is built much better. I say it will outlast this newer one. This one is going to predictably break or irreparably crash. It's certainly more "fragile" then my older model - I use them for "up close fine work" ( not climbing Everest ) and the new model does not adjust downward as much as the older model - The switch on the new one is VERY equivocal. It's supposed to be 3 levels of every increasing illumination. I find the switch will "off" out anywhere along those settings. It's ok in the end as you just keep pushing it BUT the older model has an older twist knob IT NEVER HAS FAILED in it's 2 posit adjustments. This new one though will be fine for my needs BUT makes me wonder if you were using this in more "extreme" conditions, I think I'd be packing my old one too - for a more hardy backup.
