Very solid controller with contemporary improvements to the Gamecube layout. I primarily use this controller for playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, and Gamecube games via Dolphin emulator (PC).IMPORTANT for BLUETOOTH:To connect to PC via Bluetooth, on your PC (tested on Windows 10) navigate to Settings --> Bluetooth & Other Devices.Select 'Add Bluetooth or other device".Hold Home to put the controller in search mode as an Xbox controller. [OR] press Home + X to put it in search mode as a Nintendo Pro Controller to take advantage of gyro and other Switch configurations.- Works on Nintendo Switch and Steam out of the box.- Wired and wireless communication. (Wireless requires separate Bluetooth dongle for PC.)- Includes all additional buttons (L3, R3, L, and -).- C-Stick has a cap/wider lip for better camera control.- D-Pad is slightly bigger and more responsive and comfortable to press with less resistance.- Center buttons have a slightly different layout than pictured (at the time of purchase).[-] (+)(o) (H) (T)- Documentation needs MUCH improvement. I had to figure out a lot of functionality myself.- Connectivity lights are placed below the center buttons and are hidden when looking straight at the controller. A huge plus for me since I don't like being distracted by them while playing in the dark.- Shoulder buttons ZR/ZL are digital and are easier to press but do not support analog variation necessary for some games (Super Mario Sunshine). Shielding is faster/easier in Smash Bros.- Material is matte and doesn't become as slick with sweat nearly as easily.- Rumble works well. Can press Turbo + [+] and [-] to adjust rumble strength.- Battery life is long, lasted me the whole week of regular play and charges fast.- Allegedly includes gyro/motion controls. Have not yet tested this feature out as it's not a common feature outside Splatoon 2 and DOOM (2016).Cons/Concerns:- First controller I received, the ZR button didn't always register. I was able to return and replace it quickly and easily. Took 2 days to get to me. Second controller had no issues.- Controller is recognized as an XBOX 360 controller on Steam which means it cannot utilize gyro. I don't know a work around for this yet. This seems to be a problem exclusively with a wired connection though I'm unable to test with Bluetooth at the moment.- Kind of annoying, the shoulder buttons are labeled like an XBOX controller. The R, L, ZR, and ZL buttons are labeled as RB, LB, R, and L respectively. Function is the same, but could be confusing on Switch.- There's a tiny hole just above the Exlene logo on the back. At first I thought it was a manufacturing error, but both controllers I received had them and some promo pictures do as well. I'm unsure what this is for. Perhaps a factory reset button?- The inclusion of Turbo makes this controller not eligible for tournament play and has very minimal use. I'd prefer if it were left off.- I do not know how long this controller will last. I hope to use it regularly for a few years. I bought the extended warranty. I will report back if this becomes an issue.Overall, very good controller and am very happy with it.

This controller feels almost perfect. The texture and the buttons feel basically identical to the original GameCube controller. My original GameCube controller does have a softer tactile feel, but I wonder if 20 years of use has worn it down a little. The Exlene is clickier, but not in a bad way; it's the same as any good new controller.The dimensions feel just right and I likely would not be able to instantly tell in a blind test which one I am holding. The GameCube controller was excellently-designed and Exlene took the exact same shape to keep that excellence.The L and R "triggers" on the Exlene controller are simply the ZL and ZR buttons on the Nintendo Switch, and without analog functionality, they have opted to make the button press take a lot less finger distance. It does feel a bit odd if one is used to the original controller, but it isn't bad at all.The primary downside is simply that Nintendo Switch games are never really developed with the GameCube-style A/B/X/Y face button layout in mind. Some games may have unintuitive and difficult controls by default. Thankfully, even if a problematic game doesn't have button remapping in its options, you can remap buttons through the system menu anyhow and get your games to feel just at home.For games (especially first party titles, such as Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild) that rely heavily on HD rumble all the time, the Exlene controller will be giving you the full-strength rumble all the time. Also thankfully, almost every game has the option to disable rumble.

You will find the note about the dongle buried in the middle of a paragraph and the note about the non-analog triggers is not in the main description, it is found past Amazon's recommended products and the sellers product information section.They advertise it is compatible with a Nintendo Switch, Android Devices, IOS devices and PC, but does not clearly state it requires a dongle on PC. Instead it is buried in a paragraph after describing how it is easy to wake up and pair on pc. I find that hard to do if it requires buying another product that the seller could not be bothered to even link to. After reading the instructions it also seems that you only need a dongle for PC which is baffling considering you are able to connect it every other device without this caveat.I had to plug it in to my PC to test the buttons, which is where I noticed that despite using a spring for the L and R buttons (the spring strength was different for each button) it did not have analog functionality. The point of the spring pressure on every controller that has it (PS4, Xbox One, and the original GameCube are examples), is to offer a pressure sensitive button. Without that feature you have button that is not comfortable to use.I actually do like the purple LB and RB buttons! They are short and have a satisfying click to them. The face buttons, joysticks and controller grips are all serviceable too.My complaint stems from the fact that for the price of most other controllers, I expect the features to be similar. Or at least those shortcomings to be clearly disclosed. If they manage to get the back buttons right and solve the pc connection it might be something I come back to.
