Car Battery Jump Starter, TOPDON 2000A Peak Jump Starter for Up to 8L Gas/6L Diesel Engines, 12V Portable Battery Booster Jump Starter Pack with Jumper Cables and EVA Protection Case

I thought I should write a review of the TOPDON JS2000 even though I have not had the need to use the jump starter feature. TOPDON is not the best known brand of jump starter sold on Amazon. I found the TOPDON line of jump starters after having purchased a TOPDON battery tester and being very satisfied with their battery tester. I have purchased the JS2000 for myself and also as gifts for new drivers of older vehicles and older drivers of new vehicles. If you are still using jumper cables, stop now and get this jump starter. Every JS2000 comes with an enclosed card that informs the recipient that they can extend the warranty from 12 mos to 24 mos by sending TOPDON the Amazon order number and the serial number found on the back of the JS2000 jump starter. TOPDON currently offers three different capacity jump starters. The JS2000 is in the middle of the product line and I believe it is the best one for most people (size, weight, capacity and being well fit for its intended purpose.) My experience with jump starters goes back over 20 years. Over that time I have helped other drivers with depleted batteries start their vehicles about as often as I have needed to use the jump starter on one of my own vehicles. So while the lower capacity JS1200 is probably going to be able to start your personal vehicle (especially a vehicle with a 4-cylinder engine) the next driver you help to jump start their vehicle using the TOPDON jump starter may have a vehicle with a larger engine. The JS2000 will almost certainly be able to jump start that vehicle too (OK maybe not a motorhome with a large diesel engine.) The JS2000 when 3/4 up to fully charged and not stored in sub-freezing temperatures should be able to jump start any passenger vehicle or light truck with no difficulty.) For jump starting larger vehicle engines TOPDON offers the JS3000. As noted TOPDON does not include an AC charging block with the JS2000, only a USB-C cable (actually the included charging cable has a USB-A connector on one end and a USB-C connector on the other end.) This cable may not meet your charging needs. For fastest charging from an AC outlet you want an 18W AC charging block with a USB-C cable. (I found one I like on Amazon. Search for "USB C Wall Charger, 18W PD Adapter with 5ft USB-C to USB-C Cable Support Fast Charging".) Eventually I or someone I have gifted the JS2000 jump starter will use the jump starter and they will may let me know of their experience with the JS2000 so I can update my review. [Update 2-4-24: I used the TOPDON JS2000 to jump start a Kia or Hyundai SUV (might have been a Santa Fe); Connected the JS2000 and got the green light. The vehicle started on the first attempt. The temperature was right around 40F. The JS2000 was fully charged. Well done TOPDON.]

Review Update 2/13/2026: I can't say enough good things about the way this company stands behind their products and cares about their customers experience. They really transformed my original experience with the TOPDON jump starter product. A representative from their company reached out to me to help with troubleshooting my issue. After confirming the cable set was defective, they offered to replace the entire product with the latest version. I received the replacement, and it works as expected. It's an improved and higher capacity model, which is a welcome surprise (it's the JS3000 jump starter model). On top of that, they also offered, without me asking, to send a replacement jumper cable set for the ORIGINAL model. I've received the UPS tracking information already, and it's scheduled for delivery on Monday. I've never had a company go above and beyond like TOPDON did in this situation. Original Review 1/13/2026: This product looks solid and worked as intended on two occasions. Unfortunately, it no longer works and is outside of the return period. The battery portion appears to work/hold charge, but the plug portion of the cables doesn't work. Of course, you don't attempt to use it unless you need it for a jumpstart, so it left me stuck with no transportation. I would not recommend this brand and recommend looking elsewhere. **EXPERIENCE HAS COMPLETELY CHANGED - SEE 2/13 UPDATE**

As a senior, single woman, this item is invaluable! I have a large SUV (4.7liter V8 Toyota Sequoia) and this works EVERY SINGLE TIME! I've used jumper cables all my life. They work great but stress me out using them. And if the cables don't reach, that presents a whole other problem. Then you need another vehicle..and the last thing I want is to be stuck by myself, after dark, alone and vulnerable. This jump pack (2000A) is amazing because it is super simple to use, no need for another vehicle and I never worry anymore about a dead battery. For the safety and convenience it is worth 10X the price. Get one for each vehicle you own! For youngsters just beginning to drive, for your wife and daughters and especially for the senior citizens in your life. Give yourself and them peace of mind. Just 4 steps to use! I found out about these chargers, and this brand in particular from a youtube channel called "Den of Tools" Excellent channel and highly recommended. Even if you have a super dead battery that won't even crank, just use the boost button and you are ready to go!! I use my Sequoia to pull my campers. If I'm out boondocking away from everything and especially if there is no cell signal, I can always feel at ease that I have this with me. Do not hesitate, do not think about ordering this, just order it!!!! Believe me, you will have a much less stressful drive just around town or even on a 2 day or more camping trip. And you can charge your phones also. So go ahead, click on buy now or add to cart. Be sure to buy for your entire family.

I ordered this jump starter /power pack on the advice of a high end auto shop owner. He uses this jump starter in his shop. Everyone who owns a newer computerized vehicle needs to replace there jumper cables with this unit. Using jumper cables on today's vehicles runs a high risk of creating a voltage spike that can damage the cars computer controls...a very costly repair! This unit has circuitry that prevents voltage spikes, this is the reason professional shops use these. This is a quality unit is well made, compact with a nice carry case. It has the power, when fully charged, to start most vehicles including most diesel pickups. It will also charge cell phone. This is a good buy and should be in every vehicle.
