Can I measure DC current with the clamp?

Yes it can measure DC with the clamp on meter. I use this all the time for diagnosing on cars and motorcycles, which are generally DC (not talking about CANBUS wires though).

is it auto ranging for measuring amp?

No. It has three ranges 2A, 20A,100A, both DC and AC.

can someone please let me know if there is a user manual for this unit, or a link? mine arrived with a manual, but in chinese. thank you.

Batteries were included and are required. I did not see an ac adapter option or I would have got.
