If not fastened securely it will slide off the first time you have a substantial wire pull. The tips come in a little clear plastic bag, with no instructions. To secure my new tip on my old fiberglass pull line I put a notch on the fish line and a mark on the eyelet where the notch would be when inserted. put a little epoxy in eyelet hole shoved fish line in put my steel chisel to the mark add gave chisel a wack, Done! So Far,, So Good !!
