Not for fuel system. Your car is fuel injectected and fuel system is operaiting under much higher pressure then this pump can handle. **Q: Can this be used to start a continuous siphon (assuming gravity is in your favor) or does it require hand pumping the whole time?** A: I have not used it in such a manner, I would think it would work once the flow is started. The check valve in the unit is supposed to provide a force flow to the unit, then the fuel pump would take over, or gravity flow if that is the manner of fuel flow. Hope this helps. **Q: is the internal valve spring loaded?are you SURE? just bought one that does not work** A: Yes the valve is internally try to close one side and press the bulb .... vacuum your hand? **Q: My hose says 5/16” ID. It does not include a check valve to specify the direction of flow.
