This is the OEM filter
This is the OEM filter, which was exactly what I wanted. The price was good. These filters have worked well for a long time, so there seems to be little reason to argue with success and switch to something else.

Ford/Motorcraft OEM Quality Fit & Function, *MUST* use OEM EC-781 cap or Dorman 904-204 cap
Several bucks cheaper than local parts store, and as OEM FL-2016 had new o-ring gasket along with OEM quality fit & function. Caution: some aftermarket filter elements are NOT the correct length which will impact the filtration and anti-drainback function - so if buying non OEM, pls check the element dimensions carefully. There are also aftermarket filter elements with their own permanently attached, (disposable) caps. Only problem we had was a Ford dealer used a non-OEM cartridge w/ integral cap, on the last oil change, and tossed our OEM cap w/o saving it/notifying us. We had to buy a (~$21 Amazon) Dorman 904-204 Oil Filter Cap (included o-ring gasket) to use this Motorcraft FL-2016 cartridge, which fit perfectly. The Ford OEM Oil cap is Motorcraft EC-781 is also available on Amazon, currently ~$18. Other reviewers stated the Dorman part 904-204 was a higher quality than the original MotorcraftEC-781. Since we no longer have the original EC-781 cap, we can't compare them. But the Dorman cap is well made/finished.

Got to watch out for the wrong filters imitation filters and on and on
This should not be as complicated as it is. Make sure the o-ring get replaced. Make sure the o-rings came in a sealed plastic.. Be sure to use the original Short cap. Be sure that oil cartridge snaps into the lid. Use clean oil Not Grease!!! on the threads. Beware of look alikes.... Including look alike boxes. The original filter had Brown felt like material on the end. Reusing a seemingly good large o-ring can result in a leak and I'm not sure why but I did it to myself once. Do not over tighten the cap that is not what SEALs it against the body of the housing use the proper torque or in my case when it feels right Avoid brake cleaner both flammable and inflammable to clean the cap in the threads it can damage the material. Use clean oil in a rag to clean threads. Use a paint marker to indicate the date and mileage the filter was changed.

This is the only oil filter that should touch a 6.0
This filter is genuine OEM and works great. Do not buy aftermarket oil filters for your 6.0...especially the WIX filter with the larger cap. I say this because the filter element on the WIX is not the same design and has been known to fall apart on the ends. Also, once you replace the WIX with a standard sized filter again, it no longer fits properly due to the larger WIX filter cap. This prevents the anti drainback valve from remaining closed and can result in long cranks as well as no start conditions. Let's not forget that there is now a 2 inch gap between the cap and the standard sized filter so now your oil isn't being filtered...at all! Only use Motorcraft filters on a 6.0. I love WIX filters but the one for the 6.0 is no good. Stick with this one and change your oil every 5k miles. The HPOP shears the oil and breaks it down quickly, so do not go past 5k even with synthetic. I run conventional oil and have never had an issue because I change it and the filter every 5k...per the owners manual.

It's an Ford OEM filter
This seems legit. It fits and it seems to work. FYI - I have a bypass filter also installed but this is the main filter and I have had no issues thus far with this seller.
