NYX Professional Makeup Honey Dew Me Up Primer

I am in love with this primer! I have been buying it for months, just found it on Amazon and upped the convenience factor. This primer feels weird and kinda sticky when you put it on, and the applicator is not my favorite. Once it has dried, though, it leaves skin feeling firmer with pores more closed. Skin also has a dewy appearance. I sometimes apply this after moisturizing and go without makeup because I like the smooth, dewy look. It does have little gold flecks in it which are sometimes noticeable. If I am doing simple eyemakup I don't need any eyelid primer if I have applied this first. My eye makeup will stay all day or night, and it typically does not smear or blur. If I am going with something more complex I will apply an eyemakup primer to the eye area after the Honey, Dew Me Up to add staying power. This NYX primer also helps keep my concealer & powder foundation from setting in eye creases. I get a smoother overall look there.

I was really excited to try this and it's a great dupe for Guerlain L'Or Pure Radiance Face Primer or YSL Touché Eclat Primer. These all have gold flakes that lets your skin look and feel amazing at the same time. This also blurs fine lines and imperfections. It is a little sticky at first, but immediately goes away. I also like the applicator tip because it's hard to get every last drop with the pumps. I've been using this primer for a little less than a year along with other brands. I have combination skin, my pores get clogged very easily, I can have breakouts or extremely dry skin. I'm loving this primer, it has become a favorite and doesn't bother my skin at all. It is a very small bottle, I attached a photo next to a dry beauty blender. (Sorry, It wouldn't rotate the picture). I do suggest buying this at ulta, sephora or the drugstore, it's much cheaper especially if you use coupons. I was overexcited and do not live close to any places that carry the product.

My skintype is very dry and mildly acne prone. This is honestly a nice little primer. Though I do enjoy it I do not think I'd ever repurchase at full price (in my opinion it's priced a bit high). On sale, however, it is worth getting. I enjoy the texture, the feel, the finish on my skin. There is a fragrance, so if you're sensitive to that you may want to avoid. It smells floral, not really honey-like to my own nose. The main cons are the packaging- the spatula is messy and unhygienic, I would not advise anyone to rub the spatula directly on their skin, the gold flecks.... they serve no real purpose and I think I'd like this more without their inclusion. Other than that I like the ingredients in this and I really like how it performs. Also if you find you like this for it's dewy finish, you may also like NYX's other offering the Bare With Me Jelly Primer: the packaging is also terrible, it has a different jelly-like texture, but it's a fabulous product that gives me a really fresh faced dewy glow when I use it.

I’m giving this product 5 stars because it’s really improved my skin. It’s marketed as a primer but I find it works way better in a skin care routine rather than a makeup one. Two of the main ingredients in this product are honey and collagen. The honey is a natural antiseptic which has been helping clearing up my acne & keeping my skin much clearer than ever before. The collagen helps your skin look smoother & plumper & healthier. The product is a little sticky (probably because of the honey) but it doesn’t bother me at all. It also smells really good, but if you are sensitive to scented products just know that it definitely has a scent. I find the honey & slightly citrusy smell pleasant but it might bother some. If you have problems with acne, I definitely reccomed this product for helping your skin. But I don’t reccomed using it as a foundation primer.

It is sheer and it works okay, but the smell is gross and overpowering. It’s very chemical smelling and reminds me of lemon and wood cleaner. My foundation didn’t oxidize. If you can stand the smell, go ahead and use it. I don’t know that I’m that determined with it.

PSA PEOPLE NYX CHANGED THEIR PACKAGING TO REFLECT THEIR NEW NAME. YOU DID NOT GET A FAKE. Very nice primer. It's light like a serum but has a little bit of stickiness to hold the foundation. It adds a little bit of moisture and definitely doesn't dry out the skin. I like using this to make my very matte, heavy foundation feel more comfortable. Also works great during the summer. Doesn't control oil but can still work for oily skin by not causing any dryness or irritation. FYI it does smell a little antiseptic in the jar but dries down with no smell whatsoever. It is somewhat the consistency of honey so it does drip from the spatula and is a little messy to apply especially when the bottle is full!

I bought mine on Target, but I like writing reviews for things that are really excellent, and this happens to be an excellent product. Most of the time I follow blindly amazon reviews and prefer to buy things that either have 5 stars or 4.0 and up. However, I was really surprised a product as awesome as this one only has 3.7 stars review. It makes me realize that sometimes reviews can be misguiding and inaccurate. I am happy I bought this item, it is so good. I love the glow of my skin, the eveness of my face, and the absence/decrease of blemished skin I get every time I use this product. The spatula is a small detail that doesn't bother me so much, it can be easily solved by pouring the product on your fingers or hands and then applying it witht the tip of your fingers. I'll be buying more of this product before I run out of it because it has become indispensable for me. Update: just got another one on amazon today and I am loving it so far.

It claims to have all these wonderful attributes that I was looking forward to, but I am not noticing them. I have dry-ish skin, I have non acne rosacea (redness), I have I aging skin, I guess (I am mid 40s)... all the things that the product description says it addresses. It seems to have some great ingredients so I don't know why I am not feeling or seeing noticeable benefit. I certainly don't see an evening out of my redness, nor added hydration. It comes out of the bottle in a stringy mess. It goes on easily enough- it isn't tacky or sticky.. but it doesn't seem to lend to a hydrated feel. I have tried using a little, I have tried using A LOT. I have tried it alone, I have tried it under make up.. and I just don't see ANYTHING different. I don't even look more "luminous" nor dewy. Even if some of the benefits were to take awhile to see, I should expect it to lend to a luminous look with the first use, and to also work well as a primer. I just don't see it. I am glad it I got it when it was around the $8 mark, because it is back up to $16+ I normally like NYX, and this is a sad fail for me. I WILL use it up.. so if for some reason it suddenly works I'll come back to say so. In the meantime, I feel like I am out $8 :(
