I have 12 other suits that are all 48R. The coats all fit about the same, I can tell little or no difference in the buttoning or the hang of all the coats on my arms. I read the reviews where some said that the pants legs were a little too snug, so I ordered this suit larger, 50R, in order to get a larger PANTS size. The coat on this is called Modern Fit, that means "somewhat athletic" I would say. The 50R Modern Fit coat fits exactly like a 48R suit coat. The vest however, fits exactly like I would expect a 50R vest to fit, too large for me. For this price, I have to point out that some tailoring IN of the vest would be no problem.However the pants are definitely slimmer-cut than I expected. 44 inch pants come with a 50 coat of course, and I was surprised at how snug the pants were on the buttocks and legs. I have linebacker legs and buttocks, and I went up a size to 44 inch pants, and the legs and buttocks are barely civilized to wear. They definitely would not allow any sort of active lifestyle, and don't go picking up things off of the ground, while you are wearing a wallet. I have seen numerous reviews of people that must have slim human bottoms, and they say that they are comfortable with these pants, so I only took off 1 overall star. Coat and vest are not the same size, and nothing prepared me for the pants being very trim-cut on a 50 inch suit/coat combo. Pants legs are surprisingly skinny. I confess that I like the suit enough that I will buy ANOTHER suit that gives me 48 inch pants (yikes) and I expect that I will have to tailor down the waistline most likely. Yes I like the suit enough that I will buy 2 of them, and donate parts to charity and get a write-off. Even if I buy 2, it is still not a terrible value. Good quality.The backing of the vest (and inside of the coat) is not as bright on my coat as my computer shows. My screen makes it look like a light blue pastel color, and it is a little more dull of a light blue, in my opinion. This is however a 3-piece suit, and I imagine that many will like having that one small part be non-boring. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality for the money.First off the fit. Advertised size is 48L with 42 pants.Jacket fit is perfect. Pants - I wear 38-40 so I was prepared to take them to be taylored to fit but waist was perfect. So advertised 42 was actually on a smaller side but it was what I wanted, so- I win.Quality- $175.00 suit on the Internet- I thought alright, his will be money not well spent but what can one expect for under two hundred bucks. I was wrong. Quality is great, look is great, fit is great- I love it. Will be buying more from them.The only thing I would add to this is an accent color stitch around lapelle button hole on the jacket to match the lining. By the way- teal lining looks good with navy suit. The pants were left unfinished which allows us to hem them ourselves for just the right length. I'm giving them a four-star review due the one negative I have, which is the bright blue lining of the jacket & vest backing. Was not aware of the non-matching lining color at time of ordering or may not have purchased. But we are keeping b/c we do love the outer appearance of the suit.
