Product Description DIRTY DEEDS DONE DIRT CHEAP returns remastered with a 16 page full color booklet containing many unpublished photos and memorabilia. desertcart.com While Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap sounds like every other AC/DC album, it is distinguished by a lyrical puerility spectacular even by Bon Scott's standards. Two tracks--"Love at First Feel" and "Squealer"--are ruminations on the morality of sex with schoolgirls. "Big Balls," ostensibly a narrative from the perspective of an aristocrat socialite, is actually a somewhat labored excuse for the band to chant "We've got big balls." This juvenile posturing was, to a large degree, AC/DC winding up their burgeoning foreign audience by playing to stereotypical expectations of Australians. On Dirty Deeds, however, AC/DC try too hard. Only on "Ain't No Fun (Waiting Round to Be a Millionaire)" is Scott's laconic wit deployed to real effect: the sheer glee in the line "Get your fuckin' jumbo jet off my airport!" is almost worth the album's purchase price. --Andrew Mueller Review: Music of my life - Replacing some of my old recordings I have worn out, lost or damaged. Very contemporary classic rock!
There are very few bands in the 'classic rock' genrer whose music sounds as contemporary today as it did when it was originally released. Led Zeppelin is one of them, for example. They somehow found a formula that not only worked extremely well for them back in the day, but fans still talk about their music today and probably will for many years to come. Well, I think AC/DC is another one of those bands, and this album is a perfect example of that. I mean, most people talk about the 'Back In Black' album even if they have never heard anything else the band has done. But, as far as the overall sound of the album, I believe I could put this one right alongside any of their other albums as one an AC/DC virgin should listen to. Along with the title track, which is one of their classic hits ( which they still do in their concerts to this day), I believe songs like 'Problem Child' and 'Big Balls' could easily have been placed on the 'Back In Black' album without detracting from it at all. Same type of double-entendre lyrics, same awesome riffs and lead guitar by Malcolm and Angus Young , same awesome Brian Johnson vocals, same amazing rhythm section, great mixing and 'in your face' recording,...Same thing all around. Yep, AC/DC has truly found a formula that works as well for them today as it has for over forty years, and fans will be talking about these albums for decades to come. You won't regret buying this album! My personal recommendation: One must ALWAYS!! play AC/DC loud!

Good Music
AC/DC stormed on the U.S. music scene with Highway to Hell. They toured the country opening for other guitar bands like Kiss. When we found out that AC/DC already had several albums previously released in Australia, well, we were just thrilled. This was one of those albums. All of these songs are excellent songs with catchy rhythm tracks. The lyrics are attractive to the testosterone laden teenage boy: the title track, Big Balls, Rocker, etc... The chorus of Problem Child was one of the anthems of my teenage years. What I like most about this band and this CD is Malcolm. He lays down some cool sounding rhythms that are fun and relatively easy to play. I got the tablature from the internet and worked my way through all of these songs. Friday afternoon I like to put this in my CD player and crank up my Seymour Duncans and play along.

I appreciate that the CD came well packaged and undamaged. Bought the CD for hubby per songs he likes. Songs are great with Bon Scott singing. Recommended

I didnt think i was ever going to find this certain album...
Without it being some bogus 'Tribute band". This is the real deal! And the remastering makes it sound just a bit better. Not enough to ruin that good old hard raunchy drive that Bon Scott had the boys of AC/DC belting out back in the day. We used to crank these songs up and just get wild. It was a way of life. There were no warnings on this, or political faux pas, or worrying about what the miserable future would bring....it was just Rock n Roll. Simple And the funny thing is, the reason I hunted this particular album for years was because of one song. My favorite song. And it isn't even a fast song. It doesn't blast you. It was actually kinda sobering. The song was called: Ride On...it's a metaphor that kinda summed up our entire era. The Thing is, even though we were partying to all the great songs on this album, that song would make us all stop and think; nothing lasts forever. AC/DC has been rocking it their OWN way for over thirty five years...on their OWN terms...And they still are.

Definitely in the top 5 of AC/DC's best albums. Bon Scott's lyrics are on top form. In the song 'Big Balls' he sings about the kind of balls posh people gather at (think Cinderella), however, it sounds as though he's singing about something else, entirely - very witty. The whole album is great from start to finish and, for me, has a great summer vibe about it (apart from the bluesy 'Ride On'). The album sleeve reflects the music - palm trees, sun, a motel, some shady characters with their eyes blacked over - a sense of good fun and a saucy sense of humour, typical AC/DC, really. The album went unreleased in America because the band's own record label, 'Atlantic Records', found the content a bit too corruptible and put it to one side. The very thought that AC/DC would corrupt the youth of America... It was eventually released in America in 1981. This was because AC/DC had just scored a no. 1 album over there with 'For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)'. There was also the fact that both 'Highway To Hell' (1979) And 'Back In Black' (1980) had been hugely popular and the record company thought it was time to unleash it. When released, 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap' reached no. 3 on the American album chart. It is the third best-selling AC/DC disc to date - behind 'Highway To Hell' and 'Back In Black'.
