how long does it last before it's dirty and needs to be replaced?

That depends entirely on how much you use it, of course, but it's surface is large enough to let it clean quite a few times. The cleaner your records are the more time you can use before cleaning. If your records are really dirty or dusty, you'll likely be cleaning it every 30-40 records. But it's very easy to clean and only takes a minute or two. I've had mine for several months and have only cleaned it once.

Does it come with a magnifying peice to inspect needle before and after cleaning?

No, but you can easily see the lint/dust/debris left behind on the gel after dipping the needle. I dip the needle twice, to ensure all debris is removed. If there is still debris on the 2nd dip I dip a 3rd time. Easy, peezy.

How does this compare to the ZeroDust product from Onzow?

It’s basically the same thing, but a lot less

Anyone using with a denon dp-45f? tonearm doesn't lift very far above the platter. stylus might not safely clear the gel.

Not the 45F but I did have a Denon 7F which was similar. Try holding the tonearm in one hand and the gel in the other, then gently lift the gel pad to to needle a couple times. This is how I use the gel pad to clean my needle on my Fluance table. (Although on the Fluance I can remove the headshell from the tonearm which makes it easier).
