It took me a while to find one in color lcd and that was bigger then the 8.5" tablets I kept finding which I think wouldn't be big enough for kids to get to draw. I bought this for my youngest daughter for her 7th birthday because she would just go through paper like wildfire which I didn't like. This has eliminated her use of paper and the mess which I love. I also have been using it for writing notes for my job since I work from home which I love. I used to use dry erase markers and a laminated piece of paper so I didn't waste paper but it would make a mess all over my hand and desk and the dry erase markers had to be replaced very often.
