It took only a matter of minutes. Also, it is notable to mention the glue dries very quickly. I've learned not to put the glue cap back on. Otherwise, you will never be able to open the glue again. I just put it in a sandwhich bag away from everything until my next use. Also, it does NOT rip out the nail!!! And she looks super cute with her gold sparkly nails! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Withstood aggressive pulling from cat, didn’t come off *by F***M on February 3, 2025* It's been close to two months and a few are still on. I removed them by clipping the tips off and carefully clipping the top of the arch off and then working the sides off her claws by clipping a little off the sires at a time. Her claws were so thick and long since they haven't been cut all this time. -- Edit: coming up on the 2-week mark and only 2 have fallen off. Took 2 minutes to replace (don’t forget to keep cat distracted until completely dry). So far so good. She doesn’t even notice them anymore. Guess old cats can learn new tricks! -- I bought a size large for a large breed cat weighing in at a hefty 14.5 pounds. I originally wanted silver glitter, but they did not offer that design in large size. I just got clear color which looks fine. They’re somewhat hard to notice anyway especially because my cat has a very big fluffy paws. The reason I got clear for the size large is because I was worried that if I got a color/size combination that’s probably not ordered by customers very often, I’d likely end up with an old package that’s been sitting in storage on some shelf and receive the hardened, thickened (probably old) glue that some of the reviews here complained about. Onto the actual product: There isn’t much room for improvement with regards to the design. It seems high-quality as even the inside of the caps are ridged (likely to increase the surface area adhesion with the between the claw and the cap). Luckily the glue was nice and watery. The pack comes with: - 40 claw nail caps - 2 tubes of glue - 6 precision applicators to attach to the tip of the glue tube. I recommend wearing a pair of nitrile gloves, if you have, and if you don’t have, do yourself a favor and buy a box of nitrile gloves for your household for general use. You won’t regret it. The instructions are good overall but it leaves out a pretty key detail that wouldn’t have been too hard to depict. While you’re supposed to cut off the tip of the glue tube before attaching the precision applicator, the instructions don’t tell you where exactly on the tip you should cut. And it turns out it’s actually very important for the tip of the glue tube to be cut at the exact right place in order for the precision applicator to “click” into place and attach properly with the glue tube. I added a photo of the tip of the glue tube and if you look closely, you can see a very small bump ringed around the shaft near the end of the glue tube. Once again, the instructions don’t mention this, but you want to cut off as much of the tip as possible *without cutting off this bump*. The reason is because the precision applicators have a small notch inside of them that is meant to click into place with this bump when you attach it to tube of glue. This helps make a secure attachment between the applicator and the glue tube, so that when you squeeze the glue out of the tube, it flows straight through to the pointed end of the precision applicator as opposed to spelling out from the sides and making a giant mess. I would have liked it if the pack contained a few nail caps that were slightly smaller for the smaller claws in the “pinky“ position. My cat is used to having her nails regularly trimmed, but this was relatively new experience for her so this the first time she’s ever tried to bite me. I guess she just didn’t like the sensation of having her nails pressed out while the nail caps are simultaneously somewhat pushing back upon them. The opening of the nail caps are somewhat slim so they don’t exactly “slide” into place over some of her thicker claws. Once we were finished, I put a small dog sweater that I have for her for these seldom occasions in order to distract/subdue her from immediately grooming her paws and pulling off the nails. If you have a medical cone, I think it would also work. Just leave it on for about 10 minutes until the glue sets into place because if your cat is anything like mine, she will immediately want to pull off the nails and you don’t want kitty ingesting freshly-squeezed wet glue. After I took off the dog sweater, she began trying to pull off her nails for the next half hour, rather aggressively I should add. I included a video so you can see. Impressively, none of the nails came off.. So the glue and caps seem effective even 10 or 15 minutes after setting in as you can see in the video. It’s only been day one, but I am hopeful that this will prevent her from tearing up my duvet while she’s got the zoomies. It turns out these are safe for ingestion, but keep in mind it may irritate the stomachs of senior cats or cats with sensitive stomachs.
