Surprisingly good fit and great protection. Its not very heavy and has a lot of accommodations for attachments. It looks very durable and doesn't get in the way of the camera controls at all. I use the NATO rail as a grip at times which is an additional benefit. The 3 points of contact keep the camera very stable inside the cage and there are mounting points for camera straps and two cold shoes as well. I love that the tool required to tighten screws are attached.

Do you need a camera cage? I asked myself this question a lot and I finally answered myself with a yes and made the purchase. It's been on my camera ever since. I think my thoughts at first regarding camera cages were that it would be intrusive and bulky and I would just end up taking it off and not using it. But that is not the case at all. I love having it on my camera and it never comes off. I don't just use it for video either. I leave it on even when I am just taking photos. I mean, the arca swiss bottom gives me the ability to mount it to a tripod whenever I need to. My Sony A7IV also sits flat when I set it down. The normal tripod mounts don't span the entire bottom of the camera so it doesn't sit flat. With this cage, I can set it down flat without worrying about it not sitting level. I love it! The cage is so versatile. I can add a top handle, a side handle, a screen, a portable light, a microphone, there are sooooo many options that having this cage opens for you. I typically have a microphone and my top handle but I could just as easily take the handle off and pop it right on my gimbal as well or right on my tripod. The cage itself is high quality metal and fits the camera well. I like the added protection of having the cage on the camera in the event I accidently dropped the camera. I feel like it adds that extra layer of protection. I also don't mind the little battery door either. I know some people say it's inconvenient but it doesn't bother me to have to move a little metal piece out of the way to swap batteries. It's also very lightweight as well. It doesn't add much in the sense of weight which is nice because I have some pretty heavy lenses and I like to trim off weight wherever I can afford it. I was going to go with a half cage but I’m happy I ended up opting for the full cage. I feel like having the additional side mounting options really increases its versatility. Smallrig makes nice gear and their options are fantastic for their camera cages and attachments for the camera cages. I really like the smallrig ecosystem and am very satisfied with this camera cage.

Use this everyday, it adds some weight to the camera but its solid and made of metal so who cares. So many attachment points so you can build on it and it increases the functionality of your camera. Fits perfectly and doesn't have any play. It takes most of the hits so your camera doesn't have to. Love it, recommend one to anyone that owns a camera

Purchased for my Sony A7V and it fits perfectly. It was easy to put on. It took less than 2 minutes to secure with an included tool that comes magnetically at the bottom of the cage. Now I feel super comfortable using it outside and in various gigs. It doesn’t add much weight to the camera and it adds an extra layer of grip as well. The design is functional allowing you to really rig it with other small rig accessories. It’s super versatile for any scenario. The value for this is outstanding and you probably wouldn’t have to buy another cage at all!

Build quality is great and it feels nice and sturdy. Love that it comes with its own tool for installation and is even magnetic on the bottom so you don't lose it. Love the design with multiple mount points for customization and the fact that it doesn't add too much bulk to the camera body while giving a bit of extra protection.

As I stepping into more professional photography work, I picked up this SmallRig cage hoping for better protection and more mounting options for my Sony camera. Once installed, it really does feel solid — the build quality is excellent, the mounting points are super useful, and it definitely makes the setup feel more like a pro. The weight and grip are both good. That said, getting it installed was more of a challenge than I expected. The cage conflicts with the original triangle neck strap hangers on the camera, so I had to remove the triangle hangers entirely before the cage would sit correctly. Removing those isn’t hard if you’ve done it before, but as someone still learning the ropes, it took more effort (and patience) than I thought it would. Once everything was finally on, the cage works great and feels very secure. I just wish the installation process was a bit more beginner‑friendly, or at least didn’t require taking off the original strap hardware for basic install. Still, overall it’s a solid upgrade for anyone looking to build out their rig.

I recently bought the SmallRig Full Camera Cage for my Sony A7 IV, and I'm really happy with it! It's lightweight, yet sturdy enough to handle all of my shoots. I love how easy it is to attach and detach the camera from the cage with just a few screws. The mounting points on the cage are very convenient and allow me to mount whatever accessories I need without taking up too much space. The top handle makes it easy to carry the cage around with me wherever I go, while still providing plenty of protection for the camera body. The extra side and bottom plates provide added stability when shooting handheld or on a tripod. And if I ever need more protection, there are also optional rubber dampeners that can be attached to protect the camera from any bumps or drops. Overall, I am definitely happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this full camera cage for anyone looking for an affordable way to protect their Sony A7 IV from scratches and other damage. It provides excellent protection without adding too much bulk or weight which is great for traveling photographers who want to keep their equipment light but still protected.

Great product if you do photography and videography. It will let you attach gear and accessories to your camera, microphones, lights, handles, screens, etc. Very light and efficient.

I purchased this to attach more bits and bobs to my camera such as external monitor, microphones, mobile holders etc and it works great for all that! Fits my Sony A7IV and A7III both. Has so many holes for different attachements and also hotshoe mounts on both sides. Very strong and adds a bit of weight, but not overly heavy. Highly recommend 🙌🏽

All my gear is protected by SmallRig cages. These are essential accessories, and given their robust build quality and thoughtful design, they are an undeniable value. Of course, a mark down price will make me happier.

I purchased as I was concerned about my accessories being attached on a single mounting screw.. I love that it attaches to the camera all around and screws in, makes it feel very safe and secure. Build quality is good, lots of space for all sorts of setups. The included tools are a good touch as well
