Refillable is the way to go and extra refills included sold it for me. Wish it were a heavier duty product. Would pay more it it were.

Okay so this is the lowdown of the whole deal. My grandkids come to visit me and of course bring their friends and they're in the bedroom eating and drinking and they're laying stuff everywhere and the food gets on the floor or they know they drinks over and here come the mice.so we had to have a little pow wow about that. About them leaving food out it was not a good thing so I had to buy mice poison and the first one I got didn't do any good I mean you might as well been feeding them candy. So I did my homework and I studied up on what was good and what wasn't good so this stuff it's strong it's not messy you don't have to worry about if it works or not because within an hour after these things eat this stuff they're dead. No if hands are both about it. They're small in size . But they are made with a chemical that will end your problem.You don't want to touch it with your hands. you want to get something to pick it up with , for instance gloves .Their little green squares and it comes with a box of for the bait so when you place these little squares of poison down in this bait trap which I think it holds two of them they say one block will kill 10 mice or one block will kill three rats. And you got a little window on the top of that thing that you can check them when the when the blocks are gone and the mice are ass eat them then you will see the appearance on top of that bait trap because you don't have to pick it up. And it's not unattractive I mean you can set them under a dresser in your bedroom or you can set them beside your refrigerator and it's big enough that the rats can go in and out. I bought one of that was for mice but they didn't want to go in there but they go in there when I bought them big enough for the rats.I learned these rats and mice are educated they know sometimes they just are too smart. I can figure you out sometimes but when they get hungry enough and you put your food up and you don't leave stuff out and you clean your counters off and you clean everything up then you're going to get good results.And that box is easy to assemble so that way you can just pop you two of those poison blocks in there and snap it shut and that's all you need and it don't take no time for you to get those pest killed . I think it's a good speed then within the hour after they eat them that they're dead you don't have to worry about it no more just every once in awhile you might have a few stragglers come in but just keep buying it because it's really worth the money.

We have had a rodent problem under our porch for the last several years. I've used three of these bait stations outside the most obvious openings to that space.They work well. I've had to replace the baits as they are nibbled away and I've seen several dead vermin in the yard and on the driveway over the last few seasons. So, that's all good.The only downside is that on two occasions, I've had rats who have entered the bait station; feasted on the bait and then died inside the station! On one occasion, we were able to knock the rat out of the station and continue to use the station. However, yesterday, I had one that was solidly wedged in place. I ended up tossing the station and the rat and buying a new station. Might end up replacing them with a larger bait station (like I see outside restaurants) next time around. Not sure.

I live between a canyon, a hoarder cleanout and a neighbor with split trashcans, so unfortunately these are a must. The bait blocks work. The traps are picked clean between refills and I like that the blocks can't get dragged. My husband's ex-pest guy claims these DIY treatments make things worse, but they do a much better job than his overpriced service, so that's why he's an ex. But best of all is the design of the bait station. Even the ex pest guy was impressed with the clear window that lets you know when the trap is empty. What I like best is the quick release of the refill tray, because traps are toxic and gross, so the less time I have to spend handling them the better. Just put on nitrile gloves, unlatched the hatch, pull it out, put in the new block, put the trap back and throw out the gloves.Tomcat makes a cheaper bait-station designed for one time use, which I was using before I discovered these. You can choose use those more than once, but I recommend this one. You may save a couple of bucks initially, but then you have to pry it open to get the new blocks in, and its nasty and not worth the hassle. Make sure to get this one since it is not always easy to tell the difference.

Needs a means to hold it down. The rodents were pushing this all over the yard, I guess when trying to get into it. I drilled a hole near the unit's entrance (only place I could really get access) and put in a long gutter nail. I then put this nail into the ground. This seems to hold it in place much better. I do see that the bait is being reduced, so it appears to be working.
