NewRay Classic Bomber EZ-Build Model Kit: B-29 Superfortress

My 17 year old son disabled and is a huge history buff! He doesn’t have the ability to put together anything with too many pieces. This was perfect for him! I will be buying more models like this! It is best for those that are younger as it is very simple to put together. I had read that some people had trouble with the landing gear, that was not our experience. Nice model kit !

I bought this for my 11-year-old, who is just starting to get interested in models. It was straightforward to put together. Due to their size, you need to be a little careful when attaching the pieces, like the wheels and tail wing pieces. You may need to glue some of the connections if you plan to play with the model; if it is going to be on the stand, then it won't be necessary.

I am an amateur military historian, emphasizing airpower, and also an aspiring author. I had wanted a good display model of the B-29 for my office/work area. This product was quickly and easily assembled, looks good, and is what I was looking for. My only criticisms of the model are the shape of the vertical stabilizer, which is close but not perfect, and the lack of cover doors for the landing gear, which retracts. In most respects, however, the model was more than I expected. I was especially delighted to find a picture of the prototype B-29A carrying the markings of "Dina Might." The markings are very good. Excellent product, well worth what I paid for it.

The little guy loves it

I've already been through catastrophes with the New Ray DC3 but, idiot that I am, imagined this would be different. The definition of madness. It is worse. The problem with the DC3 was fitting in the landing-gear. The gear on the B29 are just as problematic. No way of getting it in without breaking them, or drilling a bigger hole. Then there's the small matter of wings and tail-wings not staying in place. This is an easy assemble in the sense that it is easy to assemble and then watch it fall apart the moment one lets go. If you don't want it to fall apart, get your glue and your drill. Frankly I'm a little surprised it is still for sale. I can't really see a point to it. Surely 2020 has been annoying enough without adding to our misery by peddling total crap.

These are great models for your kids to start learning about real war planes. Helps them understand history and events. Very neat . And great value.

I was struggling to put the gear on and then into 5 minutes of having the PACKAGE I put the left gear on and then another 3 minutes go by and then I broke the right gear. It’s alright but the gear is super hard to put on

Most New Ray models are fragile before being assembled but this one surprisingly held strong and has been dropped repeatedly and still in good shape! I reccomend this New Ray aircraft.

The B-29 looks good until upon unboxing found one of the clip on the propeller is missing hence unable to get it fitted. Probably need to glue it up permanently. Also the landing gear is a slightly off and not centred if not would have been 5 🌟.
