Following a Life-changing spine injury, going anywhere in a vehicle was awful, especially potholes and the like. After talking to a lot of people, especially long-distance drivers, the majority of recommendations were for the Purple Ultimate - which was too large for my car seat and hellishly expensive to order on Australia. This is the same thing, but in a slightly smaller size. It is really great at distributing pressure evenly, so there's no pressure points, and also absorbing those sharp jolts from potholes and the like. Recently tested on a 400km trip - my longest in a year - and it was amazing. I've tried the cheapest alternatives and they're rubbish by comparison. As a final vote of confidence, my 85-year-old dad tried it, and ordered one for himself the next day.

So since I have a low back problem I didnt hesitate to try it. Since delivered it took me a day and then I couldnt sit in my office or car travel without it. I strongly recommend it

I spend many long hours at a desk and my hips really were hurting at the end of the day (gaming chair sucks for butt cushioning), so I was looking for something to ease the pressure. The reviews on this were spectacular so I expected something amazing... It took me a month to convince myself it was worth the high cost for a butt cushion. Unfortunately, it's just ok, which is super disappointing consider how really expensive it is. The gel squares compress strangely when you sit down and move around (and make wet noises when you move/get up) and it took a while to get used to it and now that I am it's fine. I don't think it's better than maybe buying a nice dense foam cushion but I haven't yet tried it in summer when bums get sweaty so it might be good then. I recommend going out and just buying a nice dense foam cushion instead, like the kind they make foam mattresses out of. If you can splurge on this thing ...it's fine, just not amazing. My butt and hips still hurt after about 6 hours.

I was fortunate to be able to "test" sit at a Purple store near me, if able to try out for yourself first before buying, I would reccomend you do so. I was initially wanting to buy the Royal one, but after sitting on one in the store, it was not near as soft for my needs. I sat on this Double one and it was perfect. I have a fused back, with three vertebrae fused at my lower back with 6 screws and plates, I had bought a brand new Ashley Furniture brand office chair that seemed comfortable enough when I tried it out at the store, but for sitting for 7 hours plus a day, ended up being very uncomfortable and required frequent getting up and moving around. Rather than return the chair and invest in a super padded, very expensive Big N Tall one that would likely work for me, I thought I would try this option first. I am happy to report it made a night and day difference for my repaired back and I can comfortably sit all day in my office chair, and my back and rear end are extremely thankful for my purchase of this cushion. It is pretty heavy, but this is to be expected for a dual thickness Cushion, it is not overpowering but it does have some heft, and would likely be a bit of a nuisance if you wanted to carry this around for different seating situations, but is doable. It did have some smell upon opening as others have commented on, but it was minor and not overpowering. I just put it in my bathroom and opened the window for 24 hours. It fits snugly in the cover, I have mine smaller honeycomb side up (part you sit on) , and larger side down on the chair (as suggested). It does move around a bit on my office chair as some have also made note of. I will try some grip tape and see if that makes any difference. I am very happy with this Cushion so far, it fits the bill for my needs, and is very comfortable, it does compress quite a bit while on it, so the double thickness is not a issue for me as far as raising me up on the chair, I am 6'2 and over 200 pounds for reference, someone smaller and lighter may experience a bit of a lift in the chair while sitting on it. **Exceeded my expectations, as a side note the same Cushion in the actual Purple store cost $50 more than here on Amazon, and salesman said they would not match online prices even though this Cushion ships direct from the actual Manufacturer, so try on in store if possible, then buy here on Amazon to save $$.**
