Decent model
Some pieces didn't snap together properly and the stickers didn't stay on, especially the r2d2 ones. I did like the recommendation to put ash on it and it looked cool when I did that

Yeah don't buy this
This is the same price as the Bandai kit and well it sucks.

Terrible quality construction and poor decals.
Model quality and detail is very poor. The main long guns on the front are bent out of shape and some pieces are difficult to snap together. Several of the wet-on decals were sliced in various locations, so unusable and the stand is unusable since it's not properly designed for the rear-weighted model.

Terrible Model
I bought this at a local hobby store. I was so disappointed that I decided to leave a review here. This covers why I rate this so low: -This model is more expensive than the Bandai Model that is already painted to a high level of detail. -Despite what it says in the description here, this model does, in fact, require painting. -The plastic is cheap and easily dented. -Despite the description and what is said on the box, this is not an accurate representation of Red 5 (Luke's X-wing.) Details are missing on the X-wing itself, The pilot does not have a rebel outfit or helmet on, and to cover up some of the lack of detail in this model they give you decals which are difficult to position perfectly. -Extremely huge gaps in the parts means you will need to use a gap filler or suffer very visible seams in your final product. -When putting parts together, I notice details that are on one piece but does not carry over to it's opposite piece. This contributes to noticeable seams. This is most noticeable on the thrusters of the model but other pieces have this problem as well. A small amount of sculpting will need to be done to correct this. -The details between two pieces (the thruster assembly is again the most noticeable but other parts have this problem too,) that fit together do not line up. On the thruster assembly for example the bands and wires do not line up with each other on the two pieces, leading to jagged seams. -Model is in it's "docked" pose only, You cannot have it in "attack position," (Wings in "X" configuration) You have to have the wings in it's normal flight or docked position where they are close together. In short, a serious hobbyist can fix these problems with sculpting, gap filling, etc. I expect a degree of gap filling in all models but this model is particularly bad, and I should never have to sculpt details on a model. I may as well make the X-wing in blender and then print the pieces out at that point. Or just buy one of the better models out there.

Poor fit & assembly is difficult because parts don't fit
The kit is detailed enough, but several pieces are very poorly molded and do not fit with the rest of the model very well. The cockpit canopy is the worst of them. I had to carve it and the cockpit itself to get mine to fit. Also, several pieces will not stay in place without glue. If you're not comfortable modifying plastic parts to fit, don't buy this kit!
