I opted to pull this off and go for a piece that covers the entire back just to make sure the vibration didn't shake it loose. The clock comes with a pull tab that is removed to power up the unit giving you the confidence of a fresh battery. Review: GARBAGE BEWARE! - This "timepiece" is a piece of junk. Don't waste your money! Firstly, it's so small as to not be able to see it clearly. Its about as big as a quarter. Finally, it lasted about a week before it died. Buy something else.
