What is the difference between this model and the rx420 rdp model?

The only difference between these devices is RAM. RX420 has 2GB of RAM and is sufficient for normal operation. RX440 has 4GB of RAM, and is recommended for use cases that rely heavily on the local Chromium browser with multiple open tabs.

Is an additional license required to connect to a standard windows 7 desktop for dual monitor rdp? (not using with a virtualization platform)?

There are no required licenses to connect 1-to-1 with your desktop operating system via RDP. The RX440(RDP) comes with 1 year of AMP licensing (from NComputing) giving you access to firmware updates and PMC if you choose to use that (Probably not in your use case). After the first year if you want firmware updates you would need an AMP license ($15 per year). These are available through our website.

Ho do i connect an xcarve cnc and an arduino to a rdp 440 via usb? they recognize on computer directly but not on device, have tried all settings.

We have had a huge amount of issues and are currently shopping a different solution. Only email support is a big problem when you need them.
