How large are they?** A: Approx. 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 1/2 deep. And I broiled the precooked stuffing in the shells on low for ~3 min. **Q: Are they big enough for stuffies? - stuffed clams?** A: Just. Here in RI I'm used to surf clam shells. These are avg. 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 1/2 inch deep, so they're ~ appetizer size, or 4-5 for a meal. But boy are they pretty! Pink/beige compared to East Coast gray. Recommended but wash gently! **Q: Can i use markers or paint on this for a permanent art job? i want to create my own (small) set of kai awase (shell painting and matching game).** A: I imagine a good oil base paint will adhere very well to the clam shells. **Q: Can you cook with them?** A: They are empty clean shells so my answer is, sort of.
