First take :)
One word: wow. Never in my life did I think I would own something called an auto hammer. Own 14 Skil 12v tools (blown away by their performance) and this auto hammer is the neatest and useful me of the bunch. Donโt get me wrong, hammering nails is therapeutic for me. (Seabees love swinging hammers) This little tool, though, brings me the same amount of joy. Skilsโ 12v line has numerous nifty tools, such as this. I hope it they keep em comin! Compact, ergonomic, efficient, strong, and impressive.

Good tool..buy 12mm ejector pins for mechanic use.
For mechanic applications, as others have mentioned, you will need to purchase an ejector pin. One review said to purchase a 11mm (7/16) pin here on Amazon. I did and it was too small. I purchased a set of two pins that are 12mm (15/32). They fit exactly and could be cut down to two different lengths to access any area needed. The auto hammer is a nice all around tool for both mechanical use and carpentry but I look forward to the day when some tool producer makes a more powerful cordless hammer meant to use air hammer accessories for the mechanical trades.

Light, powerful, works with very little clearance.
Working on joist reinforcement where access was extremely right, absolutely no way I could have properly nailed in the joist hangers without this tool. Even if I never use it again, it was 100% worth it just for this project. But after seeing it perform, I already know I'll need it again for other projects. I was able to drive 3.5" nails in areas with less than 8" of space where it was impossible to swing a hammer. Unit got hot, but didn't skip a beat, and the battery lasted. I appreciate the light weight, and ability to change the angle of the head. Did notice that straight alignment where driving piston is in line with the handle resulted in the most force applied. If you have the room, it's best to use that position.

Need a Flex Version of this
Very impressive... not sure how it would hold up in a professional everyday use but for electrical and diy its a must have!!

If I had a hammer...
I had seized mounting bolts in both my Hydro gear transmissions on my old Zero turn. The bolts were supposed to just pass through the non-threaded hole in the Transmission housing, but years of dirt, corrosion and rust had the bolts welded in the holes for all practical purposes. It was also in a tight spot, and I didn't want to have to take the transmissions off. I ordered this skil impact hammer to see if it would do trick. It was the exact tool for the job. After all the frustration of trying to get a small hammer up in there to tap the bolt loose, I was relieved, surprised, and happy how the skil auto hammer made short work of it. If you have something you need to hammer and no room to get a good swing at it, consider this great little tool.

Don't have to use it with just nails
Great! Love it! Wish the tool was available with a larger/heavier head through more mainstream tool brands.

Great buy
Only bought this cause my shoulder is week from multiple surgeries. But I really like it. Beats swinging a hammer.

So far, I really like it!
Took a chance on this as my pneumatic nailer was too loud and violent, I also didn't like that it would dent the wood I was nailing into, this doesn't, it stops when it should. I also wanted something cordless and light. I was thinking of getting the Milwaukee cordless palm nailer but at almost twice the price, and being more bulky, I decided to give this a shot. So far I really like it and hope it continues to perform well. With this, I don't think I even need my hammer anymore to drive any nails, it works that well. A little bit of a learning curve to drive nails straight, just start off slow until it is aligned, then hammer away. I only have a few Skil 12v tools, they are good for homeowners and diy but for pro's it would be tough. This nailer I would use in a pro setting though, probably the best of the Skil 12V tools I have used.
