HeroQuest Game System is a must-have for any board game collection, delivering an immersive and thrilling dungeon crawler experience that brings 80's nostalgia right into your home. Originally released in 1989 by Milton Bradley in collaboration with Games Workshop, HeroQuest quickly became a beloved classic, setting the standard for dungeon-crawling adventures. For years, HeroQuest was out of stock, becoming a cherished memory for many fans, with old copies fetching high prices on the secondary market. Its absence only fueled the nostalgia, making its recent re-release all the more exciting for both longtime fans and new players. One of the best things about HeroQuest is how accessible it is. Originally designed to be kid-friendly, the game is relatively easy to play and doesn’t require hours of commitment. The mechanics are straightforward, making it a perfect introduction for those who don’t play RPG games often. You can dive into a session without needing a whole evening, which adds to its appeal for families and casual gamers. The gameplay is rich and engaging, with a well-crafted storyline that keeps players on the edge of their seats. The high-quality miniatures and beautifully designed board add to the overall experience, making the game not just fun to play but also visually stunning. With durable components, this game is built to last through countless adventures. HeroQuest offers high replayability, with multiple quests and the option to create your own adventures. Each game session feels fresh, with new challenges and surprises around every corner. Plus, with expansions available, the adventure never has to end. Perfect for family game nights, HeroQuest encourages teamwork and strategic thinking, making it a great way to bond with friends and family. The fantasy theme captivates all ages, providing hours of entertainment. In short, HeroQuest is a standout choice for anyone looking to dive into an epic dungeon-crawling adventure. Its rich history, nostalgic charm, ease of play, and triumphant return make it highly recommended for both longtime fans and newcomers alike!

A great re-issue of the classic boardgame. Many tutorials on YouTube for getting started and painting the figures (you don't really need to, but it can be fun.). The expansions look like they add enough to make the game playable for years, and there are fanzine-type adventure collections available (Sundayquest?) Contents are nicely packed. If you do decide to paint the figures, there are foam trays available to replace the plastic ones that come with the game. When you buy this on Amazon, be careful to check the selection to have it shipped in a box. I bought it and it was shipped in just the game box, with shipping labels stuck on, and the game box was badly scuffed and dinged. I returned it and got another copy shipped in a carton. I never imagined a game like this would be shipped without any packaging. Whoever at Amazon decides what gets shipped in its retail packaging should know better than to ship a boardgame with no external carton.

Had the original Heroquest as a kid... bought this to play with the family now like my father had done for me and my brother 30 years ago. It's as good as I remember. Somehow Hasbro managed to not ruin it even though the IP changing from more Warhammer to more 'generic' might annoy some folks.
