The air quality monitor is surprisingly sensitive to particulates from cooking food, opening a door or window to the outdoors (the air quality in Dubai is often poor), pet hair and dander, and other sources. As the indoor air quality deteriorates, the filter's fan kicks into a higher speed until better air quality is restored.
