I purchased the Kinetic Sand 6lb Mega Mixin' Bag for my 3-year-old and 5-year-old, and they absolutely love it! This set is perfect for sparking their creativity and keeping them engaged for hours. The sand is soft, moldable, and fun to play with, and the bright colors (red, yellow, and blue) are a big hit with them. They love squishing, molding, and creating all kinds of shapes, and I love that it’s such a great sensory activity for their development. One of the best things about this Kinetic Sand is how easy it is to work with. It sticks together well, so they can make things like castles and sculptures, and then easily break them apart to start again. The 6lb amount is perfect for sharing between my kids, and there's plenty to go around without running out too quickly. While it can get a bit messy—as any sensory toy tends to do—it's very easy to clean up. Great bag of sand! It is all the fun colors and will turn grey when it eventually gets mixed by the kiddos (always). This is a fun addition to a large sand table or box. Any kid of the age to play with sand will enjoy this from 0-100. It was easy to open and unpack separately (temporarily). And of course a good value for the amount vs cost.

I purchased this bag I think a year ago and it's stayed outside on the sand play table. Even lasted over summer, fall, winter in a covered patio, it's still in good shape and very usable. All the kids love playing with it. The colors are mixed now, but still fun to play with. Good quality!

My son loves this stuff! And, well, after he kept catching me playing with it he bought me my own bag of it so I could keep it at my desk and would stop messing with his creations. It’s amazingly satisfying to sculpt with, doesn’t dry out, and can its shape really well. If you buy this for a child, maybe consider a second bag for yourself…

Loved how these came in a 3 pk...placed the kinetic sand, which came individually wrapped in 3 different colors, in the kids Easter basket. They were so excited getting the sand and enjoy playing with it. Nice change instead of too much candy !!!

my son loves kinetic sand!! he would play with it all day if he could. It's a super easy clean up, it doesn't get stuck on the floor, carpet, or any other surface. Super fun to play with, doesn't leave a sticky residue on hands or anything. My son does however get it everywhere so I kind of hate it for me as a parent personally but he's happy lol.

Kinetic Sand Review As a third-grade teacher, I snagged this 6lbs Mega Mixin’ Bag of Kinetic Sand to spice up our science unit on sedimentary rock formations, and let me tell you, it was a hit! The bag comes with red, yellow, and blue sand, which was perfect for showing the kids how layers of sediment stack up in nature. The colors made it super visual—stacking those vibrant layers really drove the concept home for my students. The sand itself is so cool to work with. It’s soft, moldable, and sticks together without being a sticky mess, which is a lifesaver in a classroom. My kids loved squishing it, cutting it, and building “rock layers” with their hands or little tools. It held shapes great for demos, like showing compaction, but it’s also easy to mix back together for the next group. Cleanup was a breeze—barely any crumbs on the tables, and it didn’t stick to their hands. Only downside? The bag’s resealable, but it’s kinda flimsy, so I transferred the sand to a sturdier container after a week. Also, with 20 kids, 6lbs felt a bit short for group activities—wish I’d grabbed two bags! Some parents even commented that their kids wouldn’t stop talking about “rock building” at home. For a sensory toy that doubles as an awesome teaching tool, this stuff is gold. Totally recommend it for any teacher looking to make geology fun!

I bought this for my grands, and they LOVE it! They are 2 1/2 and 4. Your kids need to be past the “putting everything in my mouth” phase, because the colors are so vibrant they have to taste great too, right?! The colors are very vibrant and bright. The sand doesn’t stick to you unless it’s compressed (I.e. sitting in it), and will stain light colored clothing if you’re sitting in/on it. I wouldn’t recommend using it to fill a sit-in sand pit for those reasons, but if you don’t care about staining (put them in old clothes.) Just playing with the sand, using plastic or metal forms or just your hands you will see how calming and fun this sand can be. The colors will mix together eventually but at first it makes beautiful rainbow type patterns. When the sand is completely mixed with the other colors here, the color is quite blah (kind of a dark pink color) but the quality of the sand remains the same! My only problem was keeping the sand in the container and covering it so it didn’t dry out. If it dries out you can still use it but it looses the unique kinetic property. If the kids don’t understand they can’t run around the yard with the sand in their hands or move it to the grass to play then you might want to wait to buy this when they are older. Luckily the sand isn’t terribly expensive so replacing it regularly isn’t a big deal for me. If the cost is more significant to you then you should stress putting/storing/playing with the sand in a big, sealable container so it lasts longer.

Best thing ever invented. But colours mix quickly.
