I adore the banter between these characters. Lauren was a famous blogger who hated a particular author's BDSM books. She made it her mission to make his life extremely difficult because his books demeaned women. His books apparently contained scenes where the woman was made to wear a collar and chain and was required to crawl around on all fours like an animal.Writer Z. Hays was a bit of a player, but very few people knew his real identity. Those who did were required to sign a NDA. In real life he was a sexy guy by the name of Zach. One drunken night he is being 'serviced' by his fbuddy in he parking lot of a local club when he locks eyes with a beautiful woman who is sitting in her car watching. They make eye contact and it turns him on that she is watching. Once the girl rises from her knees, she is dismissed. The truth was he told the girl he wasn't interested, but she played herself by insisting.He is much more interested in the lady in the truck watching. She however is joy amused. They run into each other last and hit it off. She goes back to his house with him and rocks his world, and he hers, before sneaking out to do her walk of shame in the wee hours of the morning. No note, no goodbye, no names.He is upset that she left because he wanted to see her again. They eventually run into each other again, the life living in a small town, and start hooking up. Things go south when he figures out who she really is and withholds his identity, which she eventually finds out.Drama ensues and it takes an act of Congress to get them to see eye to eye. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Three 1/2 Stars *by K***Y on October 17, 2016* Enjoyed the story ...it was different. What I didn't like was the h coming off so judgemental. She was soooooo very much into what the H was into...she came off like a hypocrite. 3.5 Stars was given because I don't like authors name dropping and promoting other authors as well as themselves...it comes off as arrogant and advertising. "Don't we get enough of that already?" And is it me or am I noticing a certain sex act that Ms.Turner always has the H perform on the h? Xyla...let's be real...please stress that although that act can be pleasurable...it can also be uncomfortable as hell trying to get there...more so with the "well endowed" H you write about. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My Surprise Romance *by L***A on November 27, 2018* Blogger journalist MsJames dislike Z_hays BDSM novels because she feels his work demeans women & objectify them. Online they engage in a short PM conversation until she blocks him. Lauren James is supposed to meet her friends at a lounge but as she sits in car in the parking lot, she encounters a man receiving some oral TLC. Zach Haynes evening at the lounge isn't fairing any better either. Trying to shake a female fan who mistakenly thinks she his #1 because of previous hook ups decides to seduce him in the parking lot. Never one to give the whole story away in a review I'll end with Lauren & Zach's eyes connect over the space of the parking lot.They don't know who each other is because they both protect their identity from their online site-no selfie posted online. Zach & Lauren are two individuals who meet at EM lounge fall into a relationship, let go and fall in love. Both have personal issues & misunderstandings they have to overcome to embrace the love they have for one another. I absolutely love these two! Lauren's brothers are funny when they finally meet Zach. Underneath the commanding officer Zach is caring, dominating, protective, supportive alpha with a big heart even when he doesn't know how or why. Lauren is strong, confident, accomplish woman who sometimes misunderstands or misreads Zach's action & wordsyet she knows how to care for Zach perfectly. Even when Zach discovers who Lauren is, he is already smitten & fail miserably when he tries to let her go. A bitter rival from Zach's past outs him when they are together nearly destroying the love they have for one another. With support from Lauren's brothers and her mother; He rebuilds her trusts by hand delivered hand written letters-oh be still my heart, for an entire month! I love the conversations they have, friendship that almost got lost but Zach recognize Lauren needed to listen and grudgingly she gave in and a valued friendship was saved. Kudos to Ms. Turner for including other authors books including one her own book. So glad I purchased this book I simply love Zach & Lauren' s story and their HEA.
