A: Yes, this umbrella opens manually

**Q: I would like to get something to attach it to my backpack or backpack strap? I ordered this umbrella but it didn’t come with straps. How do I get them**
A: There is some option on the same site. However I got a double sided strip of Velcro and wrap that around my strap and umbrella arm and it worked for me.

**Q: The listed weight of 0.53 Ounces does seem to be correct. What is the actual weight?**
A: I haven't weighed mine, but it's about the same umbrella as the Gossamer Gear. I guarantee that it isn't 0.53 ounces (that's only 1/2 an ounce).
But whatever the weight is, it's worth it. I used it on my AT hike and boy was it great.

**Q: What color is the umbrella?**
A: Mine is silver.  I love it.
