The butter keeper is a modern version of the authentic French butter crock. Made from high quality stoneware, the butter keeper safely keeps butter at room temperature on the counter or tabletop without spoilage, refrigeration or odors. Offered by American Mug Pottery this butter keeper is hand made in East Liverpool, Ohio. East Liverpool, Ohio was once known as the pottery capital of the world before companies began to outsource their production to China and other foreign countries. This butter keeper is handcrafted in quality stoneware the old-fashioned way. Each butter keeper is made using the slip-cast method, finished by hand and kiln-fired in a factory that was built in the early 1900s. All butter keepers are dishwasher safe and have been tested and certified to be lead and cadmium free for your families safety. Available in Red, Blue, White, Yellow and Black.

A: Bright white.

**Q: I just purchased this and there are no instructions.  How much cold water do you use in the container?**
A: You only need a small amount of water - about 1/2". Just be sure to change the water every 3 days and your butter will stay fresh for 3 weeks. Thanks so much for your purchase :-)
