Shoulder planes are used to trim the shoulders and cheeks of tennons, and to produce rabbets. A very desirable tool for furniture joints. Gidgee is a native Australian wood which is a member of the Acacia family. Wood is carefully selected, cut and dried to produce a stable and reliable tool capable of long service. Lengths overall: 8-3/4 inches Blade size: 1-1/4 in wide by 3/16 in thick Blade material: High Carbon Steel (HCS) Hardened to Rc 62-64 60 degree cutting angle works well on figured grain and reverses to 90 degree cutting angle creating a scraper plane useful on difficult grain Body material: Gidgee Full brass sole reduces wear and helps ensure precise cuts on shoulders Well illustrated instructions included with each plane
