We had about 90 lbs in two packs that we lashed together. We used three pulleys, and one person was easily able to lift the packs and tie them off. While 90 lbs isn't a great stress test, the wheels all rolled well and gave us the mechanical advantage we were looking for so we didn't have to resort to herculean efforts or unsafe conditions to try and push up the packs from underneath. It was definitely more of an investment in these than in many cheaper sheet-metal pulleys with no bearings, but they should last a lifetime for this kind of light-duty work.
