A MUST buy if you're having issues with bed level/tramming.
This is an amazing product, I've been having nothing but trouble with constantly having to change my z offset. I believe it may have been a faulty z axis switch, but regardless this has definitely saved me. I'd highly recommend changing your stock ender 3's firmware, I have a v2 so I went with "Professional Firmware", it gives TONS of other features for your printer. A lot of those features include a tramming wizard that utilizes your probe to help you tram your bed specifically telling you which knob to adjust to get your bed trammed, and a probe wizard to help you get the appropriate z offset for your printer. Do not disconnect your original z axis switch when installing the probe if you intend on using anything but the default firmware, just move it down. ALSO make sure you install the mount correctly for the v2, as it can go either way but affects the height of the probe compared to your nozzle, I thought I received the wrong part until I flipped it around. Needless to say, it saved my printer from being tossed out of the window.

Easy install, perfect fit, excellent upgrade
Install is a perfect direct fit for the Ender 3 V2 with the v4.2.2 mainboard. The BL touch cable is perfect length (~3 inches of slack) and can be fished through the existing hot end wiring loom. I did have to use the v1.1.1 firmware (8-29-2020 "Ender3 V2-4.2.2-32bit Marlin-2.0.1 โ V1.1.1-BLTouch Creality firmware v1.1.1") and not the newer v1.3.1 version from the same date. When I tried the latest version, the printer would constantly beep and the screen was black. Everything appears fine with the v1.1.1 firmware though. Several of the instructional videos out are outdated or slightly different, but here's what worked for me: Installation: 1. Update firmware: backup and format SD card using FAT32 file system, download the firmware .rar file direct from Creality, unzip it with 7-Zip or similar program, copy and paste the .bin file within it to the SD card. Insert the card and turn the printer on, after a few seconds the firmware will be updated and the normal screen appears. 2. Install the BL Touch wire: Run the wire first - for the cleanest install use a smooth piece of electrical wire to fish the cabling through the existing wiring loom from the mainboard end up to the hot end. Tape the small end of the supplied cable to the wire and gently pull it through. Connect the wire to the sensor before you bolt it on, as the plug will be difficult to insert once it's together. 3. Install the BL Touch sensor to the bracket using the shorter pair of screws 4. Install the bracket to the hot end carriage using the longer pair of screws 5. Use wire ties to secure the wiring as needed Setup: 6. Manually level the bed if it wasn't level beforehand. Using a piece of paper under the nozzle works well. This sensor takes care of small inconsistencies in the bed - but you still need a good starting point for the best prints. 7. Run the Auto-Home option from the menu. Printer will perform a multi-point homing operation to build a mesh bed level model in the software. 8. Set the Z-offset. At this point, your nozzle should be a few millimeters above the bed, the Z-offset brings it to the bed, with larger negative numbers being closer to the bed. Using the control menu, move the nozzle to the center of the bed and gradually increase the Z-offset to get the nozzle height set. Every printer is different, but -2.70mm worked well for me. 9. Store settings in the printer to save your Z-offset. From the menu go to "Control" and then select "Storage Configuration". Printing: 10. Change the G-Code of your prints by adding G29 after G28 (on the same line or a new one). This will instruct the printer to perform the multi-point leveling operation before the print begins. Works with a little programming.
To anyone that buys one of these please plug it in and make sure it works before you run all your wiring. I had one that didn't work from a previous seller. This one worked like a charm, you will need to updated the firmware and modify the gcode slightly but overall easy install for a tinkerer.

Must read if you want to fix Probe Failures!
Well, the good first! I does work great with my Ender 3v2. I have it flashed with smith3d firmware. Whatever system you are using, you will most likely have to update firmware. The bad: :( The first unit I purchased kept having random failures while probing and sometimes making my nozzle crash into the bed so I ordered another one. Well, SAME thing happened with the the next one I had sent. I had read somewhere where it might be a shielding issue. I know that you can shield your wires by covering them with shielding material and grounding that shielding on the body of machine. Some have tried that with great success. I however tried the twisting wire method that works in car audio to minimize EM noise. You will first have to separate the wires from one another (pic 2) and then you can just chuck up one of the ends in a drill to twist the wires together. Iโm sure you can find a video on YouTube to see what Iโm talking about just in case I lost you. Make sure you hold the wires taught as you are twisting them. Do not twist crazy tight but make sure all the wires are spun on each other and holding one another (Pic 1). Too tight and it is possible to snap the wires that are closest to the chuck. Hold the wire taught for about 5 minutes so that they will hold their wrap around each other. Let go too soon and the twisting affects will come undone. Having a second pair of hands could come in handy so they can tape sections at a time to hold the twisted wires together and bypassing the 5 minute hold. This wire modification has worked for me and Iโm sure it will work for you. Have not had any more probe failures. Great buy.

Fantastic upgrade
Bought an Ender 3 Pro as a cheap entry to 3D printing as I wasn't sure how into it I'd get. I got pretty into it. Out of all the upgrades I've done, the BLTouch is second only to the BTT SKR Mini E3 V3. This bed looks like a piece of crinkled up aluminum foil. I was really struggling with inconsistent layers. I went out and bought a set of feeler gauges and still couldn't get it consistent. After getting the BLTouch I mapped the bed and realized why. Went from apprehensively trying to watch the first layer of every print, to walking away after I hit start. That ease of mind alone is worth the price. Now the only thing that could make all this better is a time machine so I could buy a fancier printer.
