Can anyone tell me when sleeping on your side if your head slides back into the center of the pillow and if it does- does it affect your neck pain?

For those saying their head slides back into the middle when sleeping on their side, perhaps they need the softer version or the smaller version of this pillow. I've had this pillow for 5 or so years now and am planning to replace it with the same. My chiropractor had these in his office and offered a free trial. It does take a little bit of adjustment/getting used to, but waking up with a blazing headache has practically ceased. I used to wake up with them two to three days per week and now if I'm unlucky, once per month. For me, this pillow has been a godsend.

is this pillow so firm that when sleeping on your side your ear begins to throb?

Yes. The support is very good, and firm. However, as a side sleeper, yes this pillow causes ear pain. And, for me I started to develop something like callous on the center of the outer part of my ears. The skin became very irritated and started to peel. That went on for nearly a year. I kept using the pillow because it provided very good support and let me sleep well, better than other cervical pillows I have used. Eventually I became used to the ear problem, and now I rarely get irritation. The maker of this pillow really needs to address the irritation problem. I think that a softer thin layer over the firm support material could help, by allowing the ear to rest into a softer thin layer, while the firmer support does it's job. I've had this pillow since 2018. I want a new pillow. I am looking at other newer pillows that may not irritate my ears.

how long do they last?

Not sure how long they last yet. I've only had it for about a month. It seems to be very well made, and I expect it to last at least as long as a normal pillow. The fill is dense, and seems like it won't clump up as fast as a normal pillow.

I am a side-sleeper. Sometimes my ears hurt after a night of sleeping on them. Does the trapezoid indentation prevent this from happening?

The trapezoid indentation is so low, that I'm unable to place my head in the indentation without my head tilting in an awkward / downward angle. The instructions to the pillow indicate that the areas to the left and right of the indentation are used for side sleeping. I've found these areas are unusally firm and my ears become sensitive after several hours of sleeping on these areas. In addition, after 2 - 3 months of using the pillow I believe the "small" version might have been better for me (I'm 5'5" tall).
