I did have some problem with getting out a wick that I put too far into the bottle but I saw online to use tweezers to get them in and out and that worked great. I now just add my essential oils to the bottom of the glass vile put the wick in a little bit and then use the silver cap to push it down and twist it on so that the filter is right up against the silver cap. I chose to buy organic cotton inserts instead of using the inserts that came with them. Cotton that is not organic is grown with a horrible amount of pesticides, so using non-organic cotton kind of defeats the purpose of aromatherapy, in my mind.
