I bought 5 of the Delta handheld showerheads in 2017, so I've had a lot of positive experience with them. It is a simple, one-handed control with 9 spray settings. What I like about it most is that there is also a Pause Button for the water on the front AND back of the handset. If you go with a handheld showerhead, have your plumber replace the shower pipe arm with a "Delta Faucet 50570 Wall Elbow Square, Chrome" ($36) and screw the 72" metal shower hose to it on one end, and the handheld showerhead to the other end - and you're in business.
