I need a sensor that had a much longer prob and digital compliant
My temperature coolant GUAGE is a Intellitronix digital coolant temperature GUAGE and finding a compatible sensor was my first issue then a longer probe was second, and this sensor hit the mark . It is made extremely well with a 6 ft weather and water proof cable and connector. It was extremely easy to install using Teflon tape no issue because it doesn’t use the sensor for grounding it’s a two wire sensor,, I won’t to know how accurate it is using my DB2,scanner monitoring and reading my GUAGE it was off by ( +~2 ) degrees I made the right decision with this purchase and will definitely buy from this company again..

Sensor tip is longer than any pictures of this sensor I have seen.
UPDATED - After reaching out to Dakota Digital via their online help, Brian from technical support responded in less than 12 hours and said “Yes, you can cut the sensor at the score line.” Knowing this I cut it down to the line so it would fit the inline housing I bought for my application and it fit perfectly. ORIGINAL REVIEW - This sensor may be able to be cut down I’m not sure…? If it can be cut (waiting for Dakota Digital to respond to my question via their website help desk) I have faith it will work fine. However this sensor is being installed in an inline hose fitting which won’t accommodate the full length of the sensor as it is now so it may be going back if the tip can’t be cut down. Total length of the sensor tip without cutting is 1 5/16”. There is a line machined 5/16” from the tip of the sensor which may be a “cut here if needed” line but no instructions provided and don’t want to just start hacking and cross my fingers it works when I’m done…

Exactly as advertised
Do not use for automotive applications, it is exactly as advertised it is a 100-300° range your engine needs to be able to read like -50f° -300f

Great for when you loose your sensor
Had my engine rebuilt and the machine shop lost my sensor so I had to buy this one since the Dakota Digital uses their specific sensor.

Good temperature sensor
Got this temperature sensor for a custom datalogger project. A few key details: * As noted by another reviewer, the tip is long but can be easily cut down by about 1/4" (to the the score line) * The brass sensor body floats relative to both of the conductors (i.e., the brass body is electrically isolated from the conductors) * I did a series of calibration measurements using a hot plate and a reference thermocouple. The values I found were slightly different than those mentioned in another review. In particular, 75 F was 1992 ohms, 100 F was 645 ohms, 152 F was 192 ohms, 190 F was 98 ohms, and 196 F was 86 ohms. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this sensor.
