Kept me dry camping in the rain
Bought this for extra rain protection when tent camping. Didn't have to put it to the test until a couple of weeks ago. Went camping for a couple of days and it rained literally the entire first day and all through the night. My tent has a rainfly, but I could tell it wasn't going to do the job of keeping me dry on its own - water kept gathering on the top of the tent until it reached a critical mass, at which point it would come pouring down directly onto the side of the tent. I am sure that after so many hours, the sides of the tent would have become saturated and water would start leaking in. I put this up with moderate ease - it is a BIG tarp, so it was a little tricky to maneuver on my own, especially in the rain, but I was able to get it up over the tent and tug and pull to adjust until I got it where I wanted. Luckily it was not extremely windy, otherwise I would have a MUCH more difficult time. From there it was easy enough to tie down with guy lines and stakes. As you can see, I was able to create a nice long slope down to the ground to direct water far from the front of my tent and create a protected entrance area, and there was enough overhang on the sides and back to direct water away from the tent walls completely. As I said, it rained the whole day and all through the night. Not torrential, but definitely steady, persistent rain, and when I woke up everything in my tent was still completely dry. (Also made a nice rain shelter for all the daddy longlegs hanging out near my camp, but I didn't begrudge them the cover as they didn't make any effort to get INSIDE my tent hahaha). Packing it up was about the same difficulty as set up with one person, but if you've got enough room to lay it out and you're not fighting the wind, then it can definitely be done. It folds up nicely and fits back in its bag, which is always a plus. The stakes it comes with are not super great quality, but they worked for my purposes and it was nice to have them. On the whole, it is a quality tarp that will keep you dry through 12+ hours of steady rain. Can't say how it'd hold up in a true storm, but it didn't seem like it was in any danger of getting saturated so I suspect it would probably hold up fine. The stakes were good for a low wind situation, higher winds you'd probably want something sturdier. I am glad I spent the money on it, as I would have been very unhappy on this last trip without it!

JUST what I needed-- PERFECT!
I purchased this to use on camping trips and stick overhead of my tent pad as additional rain protection. I just spent a little over a week in the Western NC mountains, and during that time I had everything from a light drizzle to massive downpours-- and I mean wind blowing the rain with a wall of water so thick you couldn't see past 5 feet in front of you. This was EXACTLY what I had hoped it would be. No matter the rainfall, the material is so thick that this tarp never tore and it never let water underneath. I trust my tent a lot, but I'm sure I still would've gotten wet without this. The size is perfect-- enough to cover my two person tent and have enough room leftover to use a chair. There's also a good number of rivetted tie offs that allow you to configure the tarp how you want. The stakes and paracord that came with it are also quality, and it's easy to pack away when not in use. This is an item I would purchase again and I highly recommend!

Lightweight and So Easy to Set Up
This is the perfect tarp to use anywhere. It fits over my SUV and protects it from the sun. It is easy to set up on my own. It is lightweight and Ifolds up easily. It comes with stakes and ties. I bought the camouflage one and went to buy another one but they were sold out. A good item!

The perfect tarp for hammock camping
The additional length is great for hammock camping. It provides great coverage for shade, protection against wet weather and doubles as a car port to keep my motorcycle from the elements. Packs comfortably on my bike.

Does the job
Seemed to hold up well with light rain and moderate wind. It seems easy to puncture or tear, but held up well during our last camping trip. Long enough to cover the 4 person tent and still have enough space in the front for a covered hangout area for 4 chairs. Not 5 stars due to the QC, the grommets aren't on well on some points which looks like it will be a weak point with normal use. They're basically not centered with the ribbon sewn on. Also it's really hard to have it not slant in the middle without pulling it tight to the point it feels its going to rip. However would still recommend as this is cheaper and more versatile than a pop up canopy.

HOLES!
What do I dislike about this product? Holes -- in a tarp -- upon arrival. I must say, they're not large; I can (at my own time and expense) repair them. But, let's be real -- Geer Top -- in a brand new product, this does not speak well for the brand. Look closely at the pictures; you see the stitching near holes is darkened, stitch lines distorted; the holes are created by heat: In manufacture, while water-proofing tape is applied to seams, heat is used to affix the tape. In places, the heat was too high darkening the fabric, distorting the synthetic fabric, creating holes. (I can't imagine how such a technical manufacturing issue is not known to the company.) In addition, some of the stitching is off centered, crooked and a bit sloppy. Shipping the product with such defects demonstrates poor quality control and an apparent indifference to quality. (It's probable Geer Top ships other of these tarps with the similar defects.) Other than these issues, nice tarp.

Good value for the money!
Can’t wait to use it, but I’ve had it open and inspected it, the fabric is light, but strong. I have no doubt it will protect my camp from weather. The best part is that I can overlap this tart. It can be over lapped with my existing 10x10 tarp to cover a 10x20 space (about 10x20 not counting the “tails” on the one end). This will give me a larger social space even if I camp with a friend!
