Great knife!
Wow! I am surprised by this knife! For a Chinese-made knife, it is quite good. Taylor Brands no longer owns Schrade/Uncle Henry/Imperial. BTI Tools LLC owns them now. Fit and finish is great. No blade rub, either. The steel is average, nothing to get excited about, but it sharpens up quickly and easily. Blades arrived quite sharp and ready to cut. The stagalon handle covers are done well and are attractive. The blades have decent snap and aren't nail breakers. The blades do not have shiny, high gloss blades, but I don't view this as a negative at all. I own about 30 Case traditional knives, and some of them aren't as nice as this Uncle Henry. Really! For a long time after Taylor Brands purchased the Schrade company, the knives they put out were pretty terrible. Taylor started stepping up their game, and it looks like BTI Tools is continuing this trend. This knife is a great buy at $18. If you need a nice-looking, inexpensive traditional knife, this is it! Highly recommended. Now that I have purchased several Chinese-made Schrade Old Timers and several Uncle Henry knives, I can honestly say that the Uncle Henry models are much, much better. Higher quality. This Uncle Henry won't be leaving my pocket for a while.

Nice pocket knife!
I bought this knife to replace my grandfather's that I unfortunately lost after 20 years. This knife is working well and I have no complaints. Good knife good quality. If you want i nice pocket knife I would recommend this one to you. I know they can last at least 60 years. :)

Well worth the money! Better design than the original.
Easy to open the blades out right out of the box, the blades are sharp and useful. Very handy to carry around; Not too big, not too small. I spent some time filing down the sharp edges on the back of the blades, and the handles. Now it's just right! Its a good knife for not too much money that can be used without worrying about the cost of replacement. I have an American made one from 2003 (Just before American Schrade folded) and I like this one better. The way the USA made knife is talked about in some of these reviews you'd think it was the pocket knife that tamed the west. But that is BS, the Uncle Henry's were introduced in 1973 in fancy display cases and were expensive. Most of these old fogey's just wear holes in their pockets with an expensive knife that is only used for cleaning their fingernails. One of the blades has an extreme curve to make it fit the three blade setup. The new one has straighter blades and does not fold in on itself as easily as the old one. The new one is an improved design, made in China to make it affordable in the USA.

Good for everyday use
I wanted a knife that would be useful, but wouldn’t make me cry when I lost it. I’ve bought some knives that were initially difficult to open and close, but this knife had smooth action right out of the box. Other inexpensive knives I’ve used in past I needed to use oil while opening and closing 50 times to polish the rough spots off the action. I use it to cut twine and upen sacks and it keeps a reasonably sharp edge for those purposes. Overall, I’m with the value of this knife for the low cost.

Well-made edc pocket knife-worthy successor
I got this as a successor to the Uncle Henry (same model 897) that I've had for nearly 50 years. That one will be passed along to future generations. This one is a bit lighter colored but still solid in construction and easy in the pocket. Comes very well sharpened-i guess time will tell how the steel will hold up, but well pleased out of the box.

Perfect pocket size knife.
Love uncle Henry’s for the price and performance. They will take and somewhat hold an edge. The look and feel good in the hand and pocket.
