Do you have to put them in before clothes? I'm so used to putting in after clothes will it make a difference

I have been using this product for many years even when pods were not around and I have always had hard water and have never had any problems with backup or anything. It is wonderful to clean clothes and for my family who has so many allergies to soaps, detergents etc. as far as septic safe I would definitely say yes. I do not use powder detergent since after awhile it creates problems with backage, doesn’t dissolve with the hard water and I even had to get a plumber to open the pipe to eleviate the problem . 1 pod or 2 for extra large loads is all u need.

Can these be used on dark/colored clothes?

Oh yes, absolutely, they’re great on any type clothing. I’ve used them for years. I also have used them on my grandkids and great grand kids clothing. They clean clothes well and they’re great for sensitive sling!
