desertcart.com: True North (True Born, 2): 9781633755956: Sterling, L.E.: Books Review: I want more!!! - Middle books in a trilogy have a long standing reputation for being drawn out and boring. I was worried for a while that this book would live up to its "middle child" expectation, but once I got past the first 30% I couldn't quit reading because of Jared. I mean no one can resist the romance and fire between Lucy and Jared. Their love story and bickering kept me going until the whole story got juicy. Ended on an expected cliff hanger and I anxiously await the final installment in the trilogy. (I'm pretty sure it's a trilogy, it'd be hilarious if I wrote this review and it's not) Review: More intriguing with each page - We pick up a few months after the explosive ending from Book one. The sisters are still split and Lucy is determined to remedy that. But as time passes she also realizes how things may not be as they seem and maybe she can’t trust who she thought she could. We learn more about the plague, world order, magic and science behind the True Born, Splicer and Lester...and now a new class the Gilt. This is a fascinating dystopian world where what seems idealistic is fraught with problems and where no one really knows what is at stake. I love the description behind the true borns and would love to see drawings or visuals of them. Storm sounds so grand and the others who work with him sound exotic and quite interesting. We meet new characters in this book and I look forward to seeing what backstory they have...especially the Senator and Ali. Great book and I can’t wait to read book three!

Sleep is underrated.
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this series. I hope there is a sequel and I am thankful to not be left with a huge cliffhanging end. I am glad I took a chance on purchasing these books. They were well worth it.

Bad Choices Are Sometimes Good Choices
Plague has ravaged Lucy's world. On the eve of her and Margot's reveal, Lasters attacked her home and she was forced to run. Now Margot's missing, Lucy is living with True Born Nolan Storm, unorthodox magic has been loosed upon the land, and she's all turned around when it comes to her fiercest protector, Jared True Born Price. Even as she despairs over her circumstances, Lucy helps Storm navigate the Upper Circle. Wanting nothing more than to find her sister, Lucy finally makes some choices in this book. Were they good choices? No, I don't think they were. But who makes the right choice the first time out of the gate? Usually we mess up. And Lucy is messing up. Even with her new friend Ali, and her steadfast protector, Jared, can Lucy find Margot before things go seriously wrong? I'm going to keep reading to find out. Now I have to wait for book three...darn it.

Thrilling
I wasn't sure what to expect for round two, but I definitely wasn't disappointed. Hopping from chapter to chapter, fully captivated with what might be coming next. New surprises around each bend. So ready for the next book.

I like this series
Fresh idea, and the characters are interesting. Intrigue, lots of side stories, these are definitely worth reading. Don’t pass this series by.

Getting better
I liked this book better than the first, which is unusual for me. Usually the first book in a series is my favorite.
